Biography

Hails from the Abiding Boneyard.
Veigo was born into a sickly family of wildclaws that hid and cowered deep in a gorey crevice, fearful of the sun and of other vicious plaguelings. His family survived by eating the fleshy growths that pulsated with blood around them, eating the alien meat raw, crunching on the malformed bones of not-creatures. Veigo, much like his family before him, was born with ailments and disfigurement. His legs were too weak to hold his body up, and he was forced to depend on his family to keep him alive. Since it was obvious he could never overpower his siblings when it came to food, he had to quickly learn how to use his words to get what he wanted.

His family was used to being feeble and laden with the curses of blindness, deafness, and even unexplained deaths in the night, so Veigo did get much help from his family. While his siblings could go out and scavenge the wandering contagion, he asked them to bring him all of the books they could find. No one in Veigo's family knew how to read, save his father who could remember most of the alphabet. The crippled wildclaw taught himself to read, and built himself a meager library of the scaps his siblings could bring him.

Veigo learned many things. He learned about the history of the gods, about the history of several historic clans, how to harness his plague magic, and learned how to engineer technology. As this knowledge was building in his mind like a multiplying virus, a vision was beginning to take form. If the primordial phoenix could rise from it's ashes, dragons becoming gods through arcane exposure, or even gods forming from the bones and blood of its surroundings, surely there was no reason he couldn't too become a god.

So he made prosthetic leg enhancements, and stood for the first time. So he left the fleshy crevice of his cowering family, and walked in the scalding sunlight. So he used his words to twist the minds of whatever dragons he could find, and started his flight. He will become the Apothecary, or he who gives medicine, and show Sornieth the path to purity.

He understands no one will take him seriously as he stands now, a lowly thief with only bark and no bite, but he bides his time. He plays the part, a lovable, approachable 'robin hood-eque' gang leader who plans their next big heist, and revels in the riches with his mates. But that's so material and short sighted. He does not let his members know about his research, the kind of texts he has been reading.

For in all of Sornieth, there has only ever been one dragon-made threat to have been able to get a god's attention. All of this money they are accrueing now is just to make the trip to the Light territory easier. There, Veigo will locate the ancient, classified, and forbidden scrolls that document the burial traditions of Imperials, and all of the knowledge available about the horrifying mistake of Emperor dragons. There, Veigo might be able to make his vision of ascending to god-hood a reality.

He watched Canker and co. build the castle from afar, reading the situation before he interacted. Seeing some strong, capable dragons, he thought he would be able to get some useful materials out of them. But the dark purple Pearlcatcher known as Pathogen was very adamant that he left immediately. He tried to worm his way to get the kind-hearted Tundra queen Canker to let him join. but she seemed to trust the Pearcatcher more. Veigo was able to see that Pathogen would rather die than let him stay in her sights, so he left, willing to let the opportunity disappear.

As Canker's clan grew, so did Veigo's gang. He and his followers steal food, wealth, familiars, Narumi's and Juice's machines and blueprints, and even the eggs of the war general herself, Valentina. Though he has a strong desire to vanquish Canker's castle and turn it into a smoldering wreck, he remembers his purpose. However, as a god-dragon, he will teach all who oppose him to fear him sooner or later, and Canker's clan has become his first enemy.
