Erde

Time runs slow beneath the death, mud, and dirt crumbling between his claws, caught in his nails. He can't remember when it started but he feels like he is suffocating, they chant and scream that a spirit left in the dark can't save them.

Called upon the hills between the clans, he resides with them, along the river where rubble is carried he sees the suffering of them all and his blood runs cold. He can't remember his name, he just knows he owns this land. He fears what he must become, what he must trade for their freedom.

Peace was never free, war can not bring around what they kill for, flowers bloom beneath their bodies. Cold to the touch and lost in the earth's core, he weeps for what he can't make rise. The wind carries him far and wide for the Earth, as it cries for his love and fallen warmth. He guides them home.

The Earth is strong, ruthless and so ever lost, it buries you beneath it and crushes your soul. Yet, he wonders this land far and wide, the wind screaming his name and the dragons chanting. His eyes are closed and hollow, the heavens had forsaken him long ago. Still, they ask his name and call him great.

Nothing is left, only a name edged into stone.
