Introduction
“A brothel is no place for a child.” “What would you suggest then? Someone LEFT her here, for stars sake!” “I don’t know but she shouldn't stay here!” “Then where should we send her, off to the auction yard? The orphanage is full Daphnee!” “Damn it Geneviere! Fine. We will talk to the mistress, but Geneviere, I will have no part in the raising of this child. You and the male that left her here have damned her to hell.” A soft pink spiral and a crimson coatl argue in hushed tones to not wake the sleeping child. Said child was just dropped of at the doors of the Ebony Pillar, a famous landmark known for its entertainers. The small girl was curled around her iridescent orb in a wicker basket filled with soft leaves native to the boundaries of plague and arcane, clearly someone went far out of their way to hide this child. Carefully lifting the basket the girls carried it up the stairs. Timidly Geneviere raises her hand only for Daphnee to swing the door open on a rather annoyed wildclaw holding a smoking cigarette.
“What is it now, Cherie?” her silvery voice charms the air as she brings the cigarette to her lips. “Have you killed another man by ‘Accident’, or is this just a night call to raise my heart rate again?” the insinuation quickly reminding Geneviere of the secret relationship of the two. “Hm, no, you wouldn’t have brought miss blushy.” She smirks.
“Mari, love. Some dragon left a hatchling on our steps then skipped town.” Daphnee sighs.
“What a ******.” Mari muses “Let me see this tiny leech creature.”
As if being called the young pearlcatcher raises her head over the edge of the basket and stares at Mari. Mari walks up to her and the little one plays with swirling smoke, Mari smiles “Ah, i think I will call you… hm… I can’t call you little ****, so how about I name you Sia.” The white bodied pearlcatcher giggled at the name. This is the starting point of a long journey.
Time skip brought to you by the Arcanist knowing of Sia, but not giving a damn.
Eighteen years have gone by and Sia has become untouchable. ‘Who would have thought that Mari would completely adopt her and forced me to help raise her’ Daphnee thought with a smile as the pearlcatcher danced to some frantically thrumming drums. She was popular, as you would expect a forbidden fruit to be, she has proven to be a skilled fighter with a sweet silver tongue just like Mari. “I pity the dragon that tries to tame her” she thinks allowed.
“Tame?” Mari starts choking with laughter “You do know you are talking about Ms. Screw Yourself correct. I have never seen a woman talk such circles around men that they leave untouched and STILL pay her!”
“She is your kid, I mean the whole staff knows it.” Geneviere grins. “She is just like you and even worse she even has your attitude!” a girl brings more drinks to their table, giggling at the trios shinagaines.
Sia laughs sweetly attracting the attention of the group, the look down to see what seems to be a soldier. The young purple skydancer shifts his wings, the three freeze upon seeing the arcane mark of an exalted on his textured wings. “This could be bad….” the waitress fidgeted with her silk scarf. “Should I..”
“No, let us just watch. She is smart, she knows the allowed limits.” Mari smiles as Sia leads the male in a dance introducing him to various escorts littered around the first floor. Pointing and laughing her trademark smile ever present. The mothers shared a look “See I told you she was smar-” “Mistress!” the waitress’ gasp interrupted the sentence as Sia leads the Exalted out of view. “****.” was all that was said.
Meanwhile….
“What do you mean I’m in danger?” Sia calmly pours her guest some tea “I feel perfectly safe here, um…” she says fishing for a name.
“Soren.” He offers with a smile.
“Soren, That's a pretty name.” she muses out loud, his chuckle causes a blush to grace her face for a split second. “I am perfectly safe here, and why would your god even care about my safety?”
“Because you aren’t just a dragon.” he smiles.
“Hmm, last I checked I was completely normal.” she hands him his cup “It’s Yerba Mate tea, it’s great for you.”
“By now the dreams have started.” he watches her flinch “the war was harsh on all of us. These dragon gods held no mercy for the old gods. Most of us died but some were lucky enough to find allies.”
“Us?” he looks at her in question “You said us, were you one?”
“That isn’t the important part right now.” he gives her a stern look “Shadowbinder knows you are here.”
Escape
"And again, I don't see why I should be worried. Like I said I'm pretty normal." Sia smiles.
"Normal dragonfolk can't predict pregnancies and wars. They can not see how a battle will turn. Only our kind can." He pulls a white wrap from his armor and hands it to her "cover yourself as well as you can, we must leave now before your loved ones are placed at risk. Please you know that I'm not lying."
She sighs grabbing the sash and carefully starts to wrap herself. She didn't want to openly admit it but she felt the truth in his words, thats when she pulled him aside like that. That's why she left with him, her heart breaking when her adoptive mothers sobs reached her ears through the silent forest. They found her letter, she told them she chose to go serve the gods. She would ascend like so many before her. May the Arcanist have answers for her and may the world spare her the death that plagues her very dreams.
Scars: Summery
She never makes it to the Observatory, being attacked by the enemy forces. She is injured badly and falls into a rushing river while her friend, Soren, is left to fight them alone. When she wakes, she finds herself in the den with a particular mirror of the Ahote clan.
War Bound: Summery
She starts her training with the mirror who is truly a war spirit trapped here. Only Kankakee is aware of his secret besides the other divine dragons. She is taught to one day rise to her former glory.
Homecoming: Summery
She leaves the Ahote out of worry that they will be attacked. She stumbleds her way into the arms of a insert description and is shown safety and a new home.
