Stormfront

Stormfront blew into the Windswept Plateau when the Crescendo changed directions. No one knew why this stranger landed. Many assumed he'd simply lost his way at first; the Crescendo had spun in the same direction for thousands of years so plenty of dragons, wind flight or not, had taken time to reorient their flight paths around it. But he seemed content with wandering the bamboo fields, and at first people didn't mind...

But he never left.

The air was cold around him. Sleet and snow seemed to follow him where he went. The wind flight grew cautious of this ice elemented dragon, and many shooed their nestlings back into their lairs as he passed.

He paid no mind.

One dragon didn't walk away though. She merely nodded in a silent understanding between them. The much larger frozen drake led the stranger into the air, flying high and fast, disappearing in and out of cloud banks. His large wings beat less, riding on the powerful air currents surrounding the Crescendo as they flew towards it.

The female closed her wings and dived straight into the swirling wall of clouds and wind.

He followed.



Down on the reedcliffs, dragons watched the mysterious stranger leave, diving into the banks of clouds. They waited, but as the quiet they'd brought changed to a different, more familar sound; the sound of the wind singing through the reeds and bamboo; they relaxed and resumed their daily business.


Stormfront and the large female landed on a large set of mobile kites and balloons on the other side of the Crescendo, overlooking the lands beyond. The dragons here glanced their way for a moment, but then immediately resumed their every day business. He glanced at his travelling companion, who merely nodded, and walked away, as a warm coloured Coatl that exuded cheerful energy flapped up to her and began humming, with the occasional broken word of draconic thrown in.

He caught the word Glacier, his new friend's name.

They left, and Stormfront began to wander the kites they had landed on.

He would stay here.
