aspen possesses the sort of easy-going demeanor that is as charming to some as it is irate to others. though a relatively new arrival to songbird keep’s community and an even more recent learner of the arts, they don’t seem to show the same sort of fiery desire to prove themselves usually characteristic of dragons their age. aspen is easily captivated by the simple beauty of their home and the trinkets they tend to collect- and that fascination is clear in the beautiful choreographies they enjoy performing. aspen is a capable dragon at heart; when given a nudge, they’ll always be happy to help out with a favor or task (although the duty they take to the most tends to be of the more tedious, curiously. they quite enjoy a good routine.) their fondness of slow days and their butterfly-catching, cloud-watching habits are merely indicative of the quiet wonder they hold for the world, rather than any genuine disdain for responsibility. while that habit might improve over time with maturation, what likely won’t is aspen’s utter, albeit well-meaning inadequacy in any position of leadership. the best way to dash aspen’s quiet confidence and gentle demeanor is forcing them into any job requiring the ordering around of other cats. there’s a reason they’re barred from hatchling-sitting anymore- when faced with dragons they’re fond of, they have trouble enforcing any kind of discipline, and the idle worries they can easily conceal are suddenly much more prevalent. besides their fallible leadership skills and starry-eyed tendencies, their memory is sharper than one might think at first glance, too. this is most often utilized for remembering their friend’s birthdays (as well as gift preferences, accordingly) and the best perches to stargaze. aspen has their priorities in order. they do what they can well, and is fairly satisfied leaving the rest up to fate, otherwise- why worry about what you can’t predict? after struggling with anxiety in their youth, the more adult aspen finds a more careful pace in life exactly what they’re happy with, even when it’s easily misconstrued as laziness of naivety. |
