Biography
WANDERER
Wary, disturbed, independent
Nancy's birthplace and parents are unknown: she was found abandoned as an infant and adopted by a reclusive group of old bachelors that lived in the Wandering Contagion. This family cherished her and sought to keep her safe from the many threats outside their lair. They knew all too well the savage ways of the Scarred Wasteland, and agonized over how to raise her. In the end, they hid her deep in the recesses of their lair, only allowing her outdoors with an escort. This lonely place became training grounds where her uncles taught the basics of scavenging, camping, wound dressing, and combat by carefully introducing concepts and objects from the outside. Nancy reluctantly obeyed them, but her Mirror dragon blood made her agitated and restless, causing tension.
This fragile peace couldn't last forever. Nancy's skills were put to the test when a hostile group of serthis marauders discovered and assaulted their lair. Hacking and slashing with her sword, she cut one down before another ambushed her, taking out one of her eyes and deeply gouging her face. The resulting adrenaline rush pushed her to escape, bursting out from the throng of invaders and slipping into the night. She never looked back. Nancy finally had her freedom, but at a terrible cost.
She traveled towards the Starfall Isles, desperate to escape the constant dangers of the Abiding Boneyard. Her deeply-ingrained paranoia made her hostile to everything she saw, and she responded to every potential threat with her sword. The sheer amount of stress began making her hallucinate, and her dreams became dominated by nightmares that left her feeling sapped and sick upon awakening. By the time she made it to the Starwood Strand, Nancy was a delusional wreck. Anjou heard her cries and came to investigate, and after carefully disarming Nancy, she carried the delirious mirror back to the Empyreal's lair to get medical treatment.
It took a while to convince Nancy that she wasn't captured and held against her will. After reluctantly accepting the Emypreal clan's hospitality, she tried to join their mirror dragon pack. However, the other mirrors were flabbergasted by her bizarre worldview and methods. She needs to undergo extensive socialization and reeducation before she can integrate properly.
Living with the Empyreal is very strange to her. There's no reason to fight, and little to be afraid of. Most of her training is useless here. Life is no longer "kill or be killed", and that's both terrifying and wondrous for her. Her precious sword has been confiscated while she learns better ways to interact with others. It was so essential to her self that she still carries a wooden replica for comfort.
