About
Clan Aguadaega

History
The very first thing Daega remembers is waking up alone in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, far to the north, near the border of the Scarred Wasteland. Taking in the world around her in four eyes, Daega quickly found other mirror dragons and believed to belong with them. She was given the name of Daega after her dark colored fins and for a while, she was fine with the way things were, so long as she never went hungry.

Over time, the vicious cycle of eating, hunting, eating, hunting got tiring. Daega grew bored of her pack mates and found herself wanting more. She began to take excursions out on her own to discover more of the land she was born into. The Sea was the birthplace of Guardians, and her lack of fins and webs meant it took extra time to be become adept at swimming. Daega found that folding in her wings just right made for easier water travel. She continued to explore, eventually leaving her make-shift mirror family behind.

Years pass and Daega has settled in the southern region of the Sea, near the border of the Ashfall Waste. She's established herself as a freelance hunter, scoping out territories, gathering meats and seafoods for sale, fighting for whoever had the treasure to hire her. During this time she learns that diplomacy gets her farther than violence and she studies the ways of the refined dragons she is employed by.

Daega traverses from a world of day-to-day living, relying on her mirror-born savagery to get by, to climbing the ranks of polite society, planning for her future, and rubbing elbows with the well-to-do dragons around her. Daega finally reaches the point where she requests her very own land from the Tidelord, ready to make a home for herself. She is granted lair space among the coral reefs, some of which had succumbed to the currents over time, creating expanses of colored sand from the organisms that had once lived there.

Having been used to living in temporary spaces all of her life, Daega is determined to make her lair nice and comfortable to match her status in society and life. Being a largely physical dragon, she is tempted to sculpt the reef with her claws, but scraps this idea in favor of keeping the coral alive. She seeks out a magic user to teach her. This turns out to be a harder task than she originally thought it would be. Despite her position in the social ranks, she cannot secure a mentor; they're all in the employ of other dragons and courts or too busy to train her or too expensive for her blood. In the shelter of her small reef home, Daega notices for the first time how there are no establishments near her; no other lairs close by and no neighbors to speak of. Despite being a part of groups in the Sea and having many contacts, even a dragon or two she'd call her friends, she feels incredibly lonely.

Weeks pass and Daega makes no progress in her search for a mage to help her shape her home without also destroying it. A few days go by where she doesn't even attempt to leave her lair, her loneliness consuming her, despite how far she's come in her life. Then one morning, a rough knocking sound stirs her. On her doorstep is a handsome guardian who introduces himself as Oswin, a mage who has heard she needs him. She replies that she had been seeking a mage, but not any particular one. Oswin simply smiles and says "Tidelord sent me."

Oswin teaches Daega the magic required to gently mold the coral reefs into a suitable home space without harming them in the process. She delights in her colorful home and equally colorful landscape. The time she spends with Oswin passes too quickly and he consumes her thoughts in and out of her lair. He compliments her on her eagerness to learn. She thanks him for coming to her in her time of need and explains a little of her history. Again Oswin says "Tidelord sent me." and when she turns to question this, Oswin kisses her.

Not long after, Oswin moves into Daega's lair. They become mates. They expand the lair for their first clutch of eggs, each named after the two of them, each of them growing, learning, and ultimately going to serve the deity who brought their parents together. Their second clutch of eggs stays home, training in physical prowess. Daega takes great care to ensure her three mirror children do not turn to the mindless hunger their breed is known for.

Decades pass and Daega and Oswin expand their home more and more, each time getting the blessings of the Tidelord to do so. They take in dragons from all flights, as friends and family. Daega is glad her land is far away from others; it gives her plenty of room for her growing territory.

As established as they are, and their place in society as high as ever, Daega discusses with her mate expanding their horizons even further. Thus her territory becomes formally known as the Land of Colored Sand and she and Oswin its Queen and King, clan matriarch and patriarch, ruling their home together and creating a safe spot for whomever approaches as a friend.

Present
Clan Aguadaega, the ruling family of the Land of Colored Sand, has grown to well over a hundred dragons, nearly all of whom are permanent residents. Daega and Oswin work closely with Flight ambassadors, who encourage trade and travel around the world. The lair has become more of its own sprawling town, visitors passing through on the regular.

Daega and Oswin have formed a deep respect and strong friendship with Clan Fire Fang, just on the other side of the border, in the Ashfall Waste. Many of both clans' dragons travel freely to the other, each one recognized as family despite the distance between them.

Though the clan has many seers, no one is quite sure what the future holds.
