Vervain always had a knack for potion making. Being the son of two botanists, he always had different plants to experiment with. He was always trying different recipes, researching what types of plants caused what reactions, and anything in between. Vervain was always creating new concoctions for his fellow clan members. Many of the potions he made were medicines to help sick dragons, but sometimes he would play light-hearted pranks on his friends. He had grown to be quite a skilled potion maker.

Eventually, Vervain had grown tired of what plants grew around his clan home and wanted to travel to find new ingredients for his potions. While he was content with his clan in the Sunbeam Ruins, he wanted to see what he could make with new plants. He made sure he had a collection of potion ingredients to take on his journey, said his goodbyes, and set off.

After travelling for months, Vervain finally settled with a new clan. During his travels, he discovered many new plants that he could use in his potions and brought them with him on his journey. After settling down, Vervain began brewing potions for his new clan and sharing his knowledge to anyone that would listen. He was happy to pass on what he had learned over time.
