Akaya

It was no secret that Cosmo had always wanted to father his own offspring, but he didn't want to wait for eggs to hatch, or find a suitable mate. But he knew the image that he wanted to create.

Under Rhodochrosite's tutelage, he had learned to harness the power of sight into the past, present and future. But her teachings could not help him with the arcane magic that was so intrinsic to him, more so than most dragons who came from the Arcanist's domain. He journeyed to the Starfall Isles, making his way to the Observatory to research.

Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months. But eventually Cosmo had the spells he needed. Returning to the Tangled Wood with the necessary supplies. Align the crystals in just the right way, draw the correct symbols on the floor, wait for the clearest starlit night...

As he read the spells, a blanket of stars seemed to detach from the sky, falling towards the carefully arranged crystals. But it landed with a heavier thump than a blanket should have done. Cosmo looked over at the strange blanket, realising it had become considerably more dragon-shaped as massive wings spread out, shimmering with pure starlight. A beautiful Imperial, eyes shining with arcane magic and scales glittering with the wonders of the cosmos, stood up to her full height and greeted Cosmo as her father.

Cosmo smiled and bestowed the name Akaya on her, taking her back to the part of the wood where the rest of his clan were. She was immediately accepted into the Sassmaster Clan and became a firm favourite with Rhodochrosite.

Akaya spent her time with the clan well, becoming a crafter. She had inherited some power from Cosmo and from the stars themselves, allowing her to imbue anything she wanted with slarlight and intrigue. Her specialty was jewellery, able to imbue magic into the stones to the point where they shone with miniature nebulas and galaxies.

Her craft became so good that Regina took her on as an apprentice, so that she could begin creating clothing made out of starlight.
