Machai has a reputation for two things: kleptomania and gardening miracles.

Whenever anything in the clan goes missing, the first thing to do is to wander through the ever-changing greenhouse complex and try to see if you can spot your things. Machai will use helmets as flowerpots, heirloom teapots as watering cans, and tiny bits of jewelry to brighten up even the saddest looking plant.

Machai isn't only a nuisance, though. She is incredibly skilled with any plant life, bringing the most withered plants back from the brink of death and nurturing tiny saplings into sturdy trees. She has raised several Blooming Stranglers in her greenhouse, which is why the Stranglers roaming around the Crosswinds Kingdom are incredibly friendly.

She sees something in common with the stranglers, as she is also underestimated for her size and her visage. But while she may seem dainty and unassuming, she is sharp as a whip and strong as an ox - if you're talking about magical strength. Machai can utilize her connection to the plant life to snare enemies in the grass, swat down dragons ten times her size with a tree branch, or poke someone in the eye with a bit of bamboo if they're being annoying.

Machai is trying her best to train her apprentice, Greenrose, even though they seem like polar opposites. Machai likes to shoot first and ask questions later, while Greenrose likes to consider all his options before acting. But the two share a deep bond through their mutual love of plants, and Machai has become a bit of a second mother to Greenrose.
