Biography
Anax’s family had never left the Everbloom Gardens. They had become enslaved by the Hornets. The Hornets were unable to keep the surrounding flowers alive because they knew nothing about pollination. So here was Anax, years after the siege on the First Hive he was still a slave. He had grown up doing something that he enjoyed, taking care of flowers. As Anax blossomed into a full adult, his masters started being wary of the fully grown mirror. Anax was made of muscle. The Hornets did not know that Anax was a pacific and they did not need to find out.
Anax was finishing up his watering rounds when a panic-stricken hornet flew pass him. The guard had a very painful looking gash along his side. Curious, Anax went towards the way the guard had come from. The guard had been one to watch the housing quarters. When Anax arrived, the housing quarters were in pure chaos. A cream colored pearl and a few other dragons were chasing away the hornets. Pollinators fled away from the scene, Hornets were either trying to start a counter attack or winging away and the newcomers were fighting tooth and claw. Anax was not sure if it was a raiding clan or if the new dragons were intentionally trying to free the Pollinators. Anax watched as a Hornet landed, crushing a bed of flowers. White hot anger coursed throughout the mirror. He attacked the Hornet who had made the mistake of destroying Anax’s flowers. Anax beat the Hornet until a commanding voice was raised,
“Stop!”
A deep instinct within Anax stopped him. He turned and saw the cream pearl looking at him. The Hornet underneath Anax groaned. He had broken his oath of peace over flowers! Anax had finally been broken. The pearl came over the Anax and pulled him away from the Hornet.
“You do not have to fight anymore. You are free now.”
Anax could only shake his head, “I am more condemned now than when I was enslaved.”
The pearl cocked his head to the side, “What do you mean?”
“I broke my oath of peace over a few crushed flowers.”
“You loved what you did even though they made you do it. I understand. You are a great force, that was why you took your oath. But when they destroyed something you cared about it caused you great anger. My name is Apis. I am a descendant from the Honeytummy royal line. It would honor me greatly to have such a caring dragon in my hive. You can retake your oath.”
“Alright Apis. I will come join your hive and tend your gardens. Peace will rein in my heart as long as my lovelies are well.”
“Let’s get going then.”
