Biography

MIKO
the clothier

∙ • ° 25757.png ° • ∙

Miko had always been a dreamer. His head was constantly filled with big ideas and he wanted a way to get them into the real world. He couldn't write very well, nor could he paint anything. He knew he wanted to create. His parents took him to different places, looking to make him an apprentice to one of the arts, but he just wasn't interested in any of them. His parents had almost given up; they'd been out all day trying to find something that he could work as that would allow him to be creative and express himself. It was the end of the day, and they had one more stop -- but it wasn't for Miko to search for an apprenticeship, his mother and father wanted to get some of their old clothes fixed up so they could possibly sell them. As soon as they walked in, Miko was astounded.

He had never realized that he could make clothes, he thought he could only make things like paintings or poetry. His parents noticed how excited he seemed over being in the store, so they talked to the owner about possibly letting Miko be her apprentice. A week later, Miko began his apprenticeship.

He studied fabrics, threads, sewing techniques, and much more for years. He had enough skill to do it by himself by the time he was fully grown, however it hadn't been an easy process. He had little natural talent at sewing and picking the right kind of fabric; he'd needed lots of training with just threading a needle! Once his mentor believed he was ready to go off in the world, he'd been given one last task, to make himself an outfit. So he did. It wasn't the best, and it doesn't fit him anymore, but he dearly loves it and still owns it.

Miko was finally his own boss, he started his own store in a small forest, not getting many customers, but the ones he did had intense requests, so he was usually paid handsomely. However, something was happening to him that was hindering his work -- Miko was losing his sight. It was only in one eye, but not having his full vision made things a bit harder.

One day, an Imperial and a Skydancer came into his shop, the two chattering away. The Imperial was holding a hat in her paws, looking a bit nervous, whereas the Skydancer was boisterous and loud.

"You there! Are you Miko?" The Skydancer had smiled, bounding up close to the Coatl. "I'm Solaris, and this is my friend Bedil," She'd started, Miko was preparing for a long story, "Bedil is a mage, and a mage can't be a mage without their hat! Sadly, she got a tear in it," Bedil opened her mouth to speak, only getting a few words out.

"Yes, Solaris ripp--"

"It isn't important as to how the tear happened, only that it is fixed. I heard that you were a good clothier in this region, and we were passing through, so we payed you a visit!" Solaris exclaimed, her fur and feathers bristling slightly at her friends words before smoothing out as she finished her sentence. "Can you fix it? I haven't much treasure and gems, but I'll pay as much as it costs!"

Miko gladly agreed, taking the hat from Bedil and examining the rip, it seemed to be a clean cut through the fabric; probably caused by a knife or sword of some sort. While fixing it, the two dragons continued to talk. They were talking of starting a new clan, which Miko was interested in. He hadn't been in a clan for some time now, and he was interested in settling down and finding a mate. He spoke up, questioning them about it, and Solaris invited him to come with them. Miko instantly agreed. He closed up his shop a week later, and moved to where the lair for the clan was, bringing as much of his stuff as he could with him.

He was finally with a clan, and he had the prospect of a mate too. Things were going amazing.
