A dragoness who was descended from a small and young kingdom, Melusine had what many could call a perfect life. While her siblings and she were all vying for the crown, there was peace in the kingdom, resources aplenty, and flourishing trade. However, those days came to an end when their father declared a contest to name his heir. Fighting broke out amongst the 4 sisters of who would be the best to rule. Melusine dreaded the fighting that would break out with her siblings because of the contest. So she left.

Now a poor and unknown dragon in the Ashfall Waste, Melusine traveled and learned of the world. It was during this time period she met her mate, Elthor. He had recently been pushed out of his clan due to overcrowding, and with his sincerity Melusine couldn't turn him away. They became traveling partners and eventually found territory fit for them. Melusine chased off invaders while Elthor taught her the basics of everyday life. Eventually, after a few inquiring questions, Melusine gave Elthor three hatchlings.These three - Vernell, Eir, and Petra - were just the start of the future Melusine was headed for.

Travelers in their part of the Ashfall Waste weren’t uncommon, but they weren’t plentiful either. Some were injured, lost, or looking for a new home; many were from foreign flights. In the end Melusine expanded her clan as more travelers started to congregate in her territory for rest. Eventually this group outgrew their current lair. Elthor noted that they had accumulated more than just fire dragons among their ranks; light, shadow, wind, and water were among those they housed. While they had grown comfortable in their new home, the Ashfall waste wasn’t suited for every dragon. So, deciding to prioritize her clan, Melusine left once more.

Traveling away from their last home, Melusine went to a place she was familiar with. A kingdom by the sea. Only to see the cliffs that it had so proudly looked out upon had crumbled into the ocean. Seeing nothing but ruin, Melusine turned and followed the coast. Eventually, after weeks of scouting one reported an abandoned island a short distance from the coastline. A scouting party banded together and flew to investigate. After detecting no current life, the CLAN moved their belongings to their newfound home.

Trouble started almost as soon as they arrived. Complaints began to pour in as supplies started to go missing. Fights broke out. Melusine calmed her clanmates and called a clan meeting, reaching a compromise. Once the volcano was set up as the main lair, everyone could expand out. It took months, but finally the scouts were sent. Reports came back, some mysteries were revealed, and others put to rest. Magic users began to craft the most popular locations, making them more convenient for the flight’s wants and needs.

Eventually the clan had settled, slowly growing to fill their new island. Trenches were dug to direct the lava flows, for each festival a land bridge was brought forth, and life was… almost perfect.
