Conall always wanted to explore. His mothers, while protective, encouraged his adventurous spirit and he was frequently taken along on journeys into the woods to gather herbs. On these trips, he frequently came across rings of mushrooms, but his mothers had warned him to stay away from them. He listened.... but reluctantly. He listened, until one day his mothers sent him out alone. He came across another ring of mushrooms, and began to carefully step past it, when he heard a soft voice singing from within the ring. He saw nothing within the ring, but the music was beautiful, and he was enchanted by it. Conall stepped into the ring. When he stepped out, he made his way home, silent. Upon returning, he fell into a deep sleep, and didn’t wake up for many days. When he did, he had no memory of anything that occurred within the ring. Conall suffers horrible nightmares to this day, but he doesn’t remember them upon waking up. |
