  Grace follows Garrick, whom she refers to as "the Captain," like a shadow. The two of them are always together, awake or asleep. Most dragons in the Clan of the Outcast have heard the rumors that the two of them are on the run, but the ones that know Grace better have an alternate theory: Garrick is protecting her from something, or someone. If that's the case, then the way the Ridgeback seems to keep her out of sight when strangers come to the clan is very sweet. There are times, though, when they seem to disappear into the jungle unprovoked; Grace, as it turns out, hates being in one place for long.

Garrick has also had to save her once or twice since their arrival. Grace is very cheerful, and made the mistake of turning that quality on Tigraine, who is one of the grumpiest dragons in the clan. Her perky insistence on keeping with him infuriated the Guardian, and Garrick had had to intervene and whisk Grace away. Others had heard him warning her not to annoy their clanmates, but since she hadn't even realized that she'd been doing it, it's proven hard for her to take his words to heart. Still, she gets on well with the more positive members of the clan, and is generally well-liked.
