Nobody is really sure how he came to found a clan of floating islands tethered over the sea, but then, whenever anyone is inclined to ask he answers so artfully that they tend not to realize until later he hasn't told them anything of use. Mentioning the fact that he doesn't even seem to be from the Windswept Plateau is a sure-fire way to start several of the clan to arguing. Within these circles there is some amount of betting as to the answer; the most hotly contested is that the whole undertaking was in service of attracting females. Detractors to this theory point out that while he tends to ask after the females of the clans of every dragon that passes by, he never shows further interest. (They generally concede it's possible he's just being really picky.)

Still, his unabashed willingness to help out with anything he's asked for, from tending to the children of the clan to defending it, makes him generally well-liked. Most of those who live with him would say he's more like a big brother than a leader. There are certain individuals who seem to dislike him quite a bit, but he's as confusingly affable in his acceptance of this as everything else.
