O irmão mais velho era alto tal qual seus cúmplices, faltando pouco para que chegasse aos 1,90m. A primeira coisa que lhe notavam eram sempre os cabelos, de todas as cores não naturais e tão bem cuidado quanto os das modelos das mais ostentosas marcas de shampoo. Naqueles tempos, usava um tom acinzentado claro, num corte ligeiramente ondulado cujas pontas iam da altura do maxilar e ficavam mais curtas quanto mais próximas à nuca. Seu porte magro somente contribuía para o ar excêntrico e desengonçado. Trazia no rosto sardento as mais variadas expressões, qualidade em cheque com as atitudes um tanto quanto imprevisíveis. No geral, parecia ser um bocado atrevido e cheio de si, mas logo quando abria a boca ou desferia os sorrisos largos e fáceis, dos lábios finos e a janela desinibida por entre os incisivos centrais, via-se que não era má pessoa. Os olhos negros, juntos e miúdos brilhavam como bolhas de bilhar, e ora irradiavam calor e doçura, ora uma arredia paixão por todas as coisas e ora não cediam coisa alguma, mas o último caso geralmente acontecia quando se encontrava pensativo. O nariz era longo e adunco, e a misturança se finalizava com as sobrancelhas grossas e o cavanhaque tão discreto quanto possível -- agora, ambos também cinzentos.
