Alnair is the only son born between a rare love match of a high born and a commoner. His father was a Pearlcatcher but he got his breed from his mother, a Tundra. There are no Tundra high born family lineages in existence so he is a rarity, or oddity to be more precise. His birth land, Viridian Labyrinth, is one of the two places where deity influence is minimal and high borns have more power and standing, making the place unbearable for someone like him, so when his parents passed he sold everything and moved to Arcane.

He makes a nice living in Pergamon clan by trading, and while whispers and pointing fingers still follow him, it's nowhere near as bad as it was back home. And his parents raised him to believe that there were good things to find just as long as you were open to them, so he kept believing in that.

His good thing seemed to be a bad thing at first though. He wasn't entirely sure why he had decided to attend an Introduction ball out of clan, if it was out of boredom or loneliness, but he found an interesting dragon there, one smelling of paints and something else, something he couldn't quite identify. He approached for a dance, not meaning anything serious as he was well aware how his breed affected his chances. He was merely curious and wanted to talk, but she rejected him in a very humiliating way.

It took a lot of coincidences and him finding out that what he had smelled in that ball was fear and anxiety, scents he wasn't used to detecting around himself, but they did find each other again for a chance to reconcile and start over. Her paintings helped as he could see someone of similar colour to himself in them. And now, with Schedar on his side, he's happy. No matter how the world treats him, he has sanctuary from that at home with her and their son.
