"It's not often that the glorious Cedrinum finds herself in Interitus' shop," the Ridgeback mused, a sickly smile forming beneath her mask, "she wouldn't come without proper reason, of course. I trust that your matters are important?"
It was indeed true that Cedrinum rarely, if ever, step foot into the Ridgeback's parlor. Yet, here she stood, flanked by dismembered monsters and cruel weapons that would make a blacksmith blush; Interitus was nestled in a cocoon of warm silks, surrounded by a disarray of important research and miscellaneous parts she'd been specifically studying.
"Sure. I need to ask a favor of you," this caught the scientist's attention, showcased by the sudden rigidity of her posture, "there was a beast we were told to hunt down and dispatch only a few days ago, I trust it lies somewhere in this pile of gore."
Indeed, Interitus' study was just that, a vile collection of her curiosities. The formidable stench of death was poorly cloaked with the choking aroma of sweet, flowery perfume. It was comfortable to her and no other, though it was best that way. She was the only dragon who had the stomach for such.
"Yes, it does. The Undying Featherback is actually a particular favorite of mine, because it lives in an undying state of decay, yet thrives. Certainly a beast of the Plaguebringer."
"Lovely. The strain of magic that keeps it alive, I want you to study it. Equitum is interested in its use to... well," her voice drifted off.
"End the suffering," Interitus finished, sadness ripe in her voice.
