Biography:
“Hey, Minella..” Lardel’s whisper came from the den entrance.
She turned around to him. “Yes? Need something?” She had been watching over their eggs, and nothing had happened to them so far.

“Come out of the den, I need to talk to you.”
“Lardel, it’s night. Go sleep.”
“No, I need you to come here. It’s urgent.”
“I can’t leave these eggs.”
“Minella, please.” His voice was desperate. Scared, even.

Minella hesitated, confused and alarmed, but then got up. “Why outside? Why not in the den?”
“I don’t want to take it to the eggs.”
“What?” She looked closely at him. Then she saw it, the smoke coming off his scales. “Lardel-!”
“Yes, I know. I just saw it, and came to you to-“
“No. We’ll get it off you.”
“I doubt there’s time. Please, just protect these eggs and take good care of what hatches from them.”
“You’re not saying goodbye.”
“I’m sorry. I will walk as far as it allows me to. Bring it as far away from camp as possible. Maybe it helps. Goodbye, Minella…” With those words, he left. The smoke, however, didn’t let him get too far.

Lardel awoke in the Reedcleft Ascent. He could hear the chirping of birds and the whistling of the breeze in the distance, but he could not see any dragon anywhere.

"Hello?" he called out. "Anyone? Minella? Gavina?"
Nobody answered his call, so he got up and wandered for a while until he found a cave where he could make shelter.

I have to get back to my Clan..! he thought. The Scarred Wasteland was just north of here. Maybe he could start searching tomorrow, but today he could get his strength up.
