- - - By the time Cress was able to fly, he had already memorised all the local species of fauna and managed to bond with several familiars in his area. After certainly finding out his niche in life, he decided to leave the frosty tundras he was once born to to find a new home in the Hexter forest. Settling in came natural for him; even with his icy flight, the more temperate beasts sensed the warmth in his heart.

- - - His sheer grit and determination, his charming attitude and his true love for animalia lead to him starting a career as an animal trainer. He started off small, training small marsh frogs to jump from lilypad to lilypad in a show dog like fashion and teaching small avians to whistle semi-elaborate tunes he'd composed. Through the years, he worked his way up the food chain, moving from small pets to large beasts. Now Cress has fully established himself in the field, training everything from tiny spiders to towering yetis. The Pearlcatcher had even trained and disciplined creatures and familiars never been tamed on record before. It's certainly a shocking sight to see a mere 16 foot tall dragon walking beside a Double-Tailed Warcat with complete control like a human and their Border Collie. That is, if you're a newcomer to the Hexter forest.

- - - Whilst dwelling in the forest he'd claimed as his new home, Cress met Fungi - a practising voodoo priestess who was honing her power of resurgence. She amazed him even with the simplest of voodoo tricks and he amazed her with his same love for the world and those in it as her, despite not having any inherently magical powers. They quickly formed a bond and became mates over the span of a year. They made their home in the heart of the forest, where Fungi, her comrades and the forest guardian also resided. Happy, protected by one another and always pouring knowledge into each other's hearts.
