Biography
Parrhen has been sleeping for a long time. Not in dragon form of course. Parrhen is an Arcane-born tree, and trees see the most when they're rooted to one spot. But a tree is limited to its own range. It can see everything, but only within a certain distance from itself and its brethren. But there's a much wider world out there than an Arcane-born tree of Parrhen's type can perceive when it can't move around. And in all that dreaming, Parrhen thought it might be a good idea to get out and see that world.
There is surely much more to this world than what I can see, and if I bring anything interesting back, I'm sure the other trees will want to get up and travel too, and if anyone decides to root elsewhere, well then everything will be easier to see, too.
The older trees warned, "If you get up and out, you might never return. You'll forget about the forest that's here and find somewhere you like better. Those who come back don't want to leave, and those who never do have no information to bring back, so we don't know what happens to them. We suspect they remain in dragon form to make their own lives elsewhere. Trees have long memories, but only as trees. And if you hold on to enough of your tree-ness while you're out there, the experience isn't quite the same. Be sure it's what you want. The process of changing might do more than you think."
But the idea had stuck, and Parrhen had been dreaming so long. It was time to do more to actively experience what could be experienced. So the trees sighed as they always did when one of their own got it into their minds to go out, and then they gathered up the magic so that Parrhen could be a dragon, and then one day a mirror hatchling fell out of the roots of a dead and rotting tree and set out to see what Sornieth had to offer.
