From the moment he was able to think for himself, Grimm knew that he had no place amongst the savagery and ruthlessness that was a Mirror swarm. He knew that he could never bring himself to take part in it, knowing that he could never bring himself to kill prey and enemies with his own claws. It was then that he turned to studying magic to distract himself from his reality, and discovered a way to change his breed to something that aligned with his vision. However, knowing that his discovery would be considered treachery, he abandoned his clan in the Focal Point, and set off to search for this solution.
He had wandered for many years, searching high and low throughout his homeland for a lead towards this solution. It was through his travels that he came across a disillusioned Guardian named Erna, who had been searching for her charge and purpose, and invited her to accompany him through the rest of his journey. As time passed, his fondness and affection for her grew, and underneath the light of the blossoms in the Starwood Strand, it was then that he had decided to accompany Erna for the rest of their days, and took her as a mate.
He and Erna settled into the Crystalspine Reaches soon afterwards, helping her found the Achondrite Outpost, establishing the territory, and assuming himself as a leader by her side.

Unlike Erna, Grimm leads the clan with a passive hold, lurking along the shadows of his clan and providing his insight to those who wander through his use of the tarot. However, it would be a foolish thought to believe that he’s weak; although he’s smaller than Erna, his magical prowess is as great as hers, perhaps even greater. Even though his presence is not as known as his mate’s, those who have had the opportunity to know him personally have described him as being charismatic and wise, although they could not provide a description of his face, it being obstructed by a veil.

Grimm and Erna have been inseparable ever since their first encounter at the Focal Point. Grimm is grateful for her companionship and her support towards his ultimate goal. They spend their days leading the clan together, although he has no qualms with Erna holding the reins.

Once he had settled in his new home, Grimm began his search for a student he could pass his knowledge to, finding an apprentice and companion in young Cassandra, a Nocturne who was eager to learn and practice the ways of arcane magic. Her potential and talent has impressed Grimm in her earlier days of training, and he is more than proud of her now. He occasionally jests that one day she may surpass him in magic (although it can be said she already has…)
