Biography

HAVOC | The Veteran
Heterosexual – Heteroromantic | Mate to Viatrix

Cleaver
Berserker's Belt
Flamescale Spearman
Sharpened Serthis Lance
Havoc was a hatchling born into battle, his mother coiled around him, hissing protectively as conflict raged around them. His newborn eyes were blurred and could barely understand the scene before him, his legs were weak and slimy from egg yolk and the young skydancer let out a pitiful confused cry for his mother.

"FALL BACK, FALL BACK!" A bellowing cry sounded from behind him, as his eyes cleared and he saw his mother, badly wounded and bleeding as she faced off against a pair of mirrors. Giving a huff of anger and annoyance she backed up slowly, urging Havoc onto her feathered back as she tried to simultaneously retreat and defend herself.

Havoc struggled to hold onto her. His hatchling claws were weak and his yolk was making the back he clung to slick and slimy. His mother jumped backwards to avoid a slash from one of the mirrors and with a panicked cry Havoc slipped from her back and landed in a heap on the ground. Seeing an opportunity, the second mirror lunged for him, a ferocious expression upon its face causing the hatchling to instinctively curl up into a ball.... but nothing happened.

Havoc shivered as he felt warmth pour onto his feathers and the image when he looked up would stay with him for the remainder of his life.

His mother had thrown herself in the path of the mirror. The dragon's jaws firmly locked around her neck, her head now hanging weakly as she stared at him, love in her eyes despite it all as she wrapped her tail around Havoc and threw him as far as she could towards the rest of the retreating clan whilst muttering a soft "Goodbye."

The mirrors, now focused on her alone, continued their attack as an unknown dragon whisked Havoc back towards his mother's clan.

~
Havoc's clan lost their nesting grounds that day, but they gained a dragon that would one day prove to be more valuable to the war than anything they had ever had before.

At first he was a soldier, Havoc was determined to bring his mother's killers to justice but he soon learned that being a soldier wasn't for him. He disliked the indiscriminate slaughter that came with the orders:

"Destroy everyone that isn't one of us."

Havoc couldn't help but wonder if he was killing someone else's mother, father, sister, or brother and struggled at times with obeying the commands of his superiors. But he persisted, trying his best to only injure those he had to fight. Those two mirrors, they alone deserved to die, they alone deserved the brunt of his unbridled fury, as wild and red as his crackle markings.

Eventually he found them, and after a long battle, for he was outnumbered and they were skilled, Havoc finally claimed vengeance for his mother.

The feeling that came over him was strange. What does one do when they've accomplished their whole reason for fighting? What point is there in continuing? He wondered as the life leaked out of the objects of his hatred. The war wasn't over. These mirrors were only two of the many officers in the enemy clan, but the war was over for Havoc. Frankly he had no idea why the clans were fighting to begin with.

So, not knowing what else to do, but lacking the motivation to continue with a pointless war, Havoc struck out on his own.

He tried a couple of other professions, but it turned out that killing was all he knew how to do. Havoc had been raised as a soldier and had lived out his role dutifully, he had never known anything else.

So he became a mercenary. It wasn't work he necessary wanted to do, but he had become so desensitized to violence that it was the only thing that seemed normal in the world.

~
For many long years Havoc continued his work, rarely sleeping full nights for fear of his enemies coming to murder him in his repose. It was during one such assignment that brought him into Arcane territory that he met her. The mysterious and alluring Viatrix.

Ironically, she was the one he was meant to kill.

It didn't end up working out that way, unfortunately for the dragon who hired him. Every time he got close to her she would disappear or suddenly she would be too close to witnesses. Havoc was frustrated and impressed. It was as if she knew he was watching her.

He found the truth out the hard way when she confronted him.

He was perched atop a tree, waiting for an opportunity when suddenly she disappeared again. Giving a sigh of frustration, Havoc had just resigned himself to being stuck atop a tree all day again when he suddenly felt the branch below him wrench and wobble nearly sending him onto the ground as Viatrix perched on his branch, staring directly into his eyes.

Havoc's quiet snarl made the air around him vibrate as he prepared to lunge and get this stupid mission over with already-

"Are you sure you want to do that?" Viatrix' rich purple eyes glinted with mirth as she spoke to him.

"You seem like the type to kill first and ask questions later, but how about you hear me out and then if you still want to kill me, well... you're welcome to try." She smirked confidently at him, as Havoc let out a gruff and annoyed;

"Fine." Viatrix gave a brief laugh.

"Alright. Well, I can guess who sent you, that old codger is never going to give it a rest is he? How about instead of killing me..." Viatrix was practically snout-to-snout with Havoc now.

"...you become my mate?" Havoc's jaw dropped. No one had ever asked him that before, especially someone he had been trying to kill for the past month.

"W-what? Why?" He managed to stutter out.

"Let's call it a wager. Also, I like your tenacity, none of the other mercenaries had the patience to wait this long." She smirked at him, claws wrapped gracefully around the tree's limbs.

Havoc's face flushed and he grumbled about bossy females but in the end he agreed. Besides, he wanted to prove that he could be good at something that wasn't killing.
Turned out he was pretty dang good at sleeping, once he let himself. Havoc was also rather skilled at getting annoyed with young dragons make a ruckus. He had finally found some peace and quiet after marrying into Clan Gavilon of the Phantasmal Alliances and he wanted to keep it that way thank you very much!

Havoc still worked in his old occupation from time to time as a member of the Phantasmal Guard or aboard the Starwood Valiant in an effort to protect his home. For he had discovered that peace suited him, and he never wanted his family to be threatened ever again.
