A member of one of the most prominent bloodlines of Clan Riss, Vassal is nevertheless the least prominent among his half-siblings, and perhaps one of the least accomplished or influential of his lineage. His low standing within the clan is owed to his lack of application of his actual skills to anything of real use, though a dragon could be forgiven for not guessing this with the way Vassal speaks of himself - which is very highly.

Despite generally being a talkative layabout, he is at least gregarious and a fine companion at special events. Additionally, both his daughter Yilissa and his son Elessar have made names for themselves among the clan's warriors and their more influential cousins, leaving him with plenty of support to lean on. When he's not throwing parties or lounging around his chambers reading tawdry publications, Vassal can most often be found telling tall tales to the latest batch of hatchlings, boasting around the training grounds, or gambling with some of the less judicious members of the clan.
