Samash used to be an archeologist specialising on the architecture of the Second Age, which is the reason he came to the Thonis Atoll in the first place. He could be mistaken for a Light dragon, but he's actually of the Earth flight. In Searest Port on the atoll he met his later mate Concordia, a priestess of the Lightweaver. He helped her build her temple with his knowledge of architecture, and fell in love with her. Nowadays he has given up his former occupation in favor of maintaining the temple and tending to the visiting dragons.

With his friendly and knowledgeable nature, he is just as popular with visitors as his mate. He plans all year for the next Brightshine Jubilee to make it a big festival away from home for all the Light dragons on the atoll.
