Sheratan

"Oh! Hello there!" A voice calmly calls out from no discernible location. It seems to come from everywhere in the forest, as if the trees themselves are speaking, greeting you into the domain.

"Hi," the voice says again, this time softer, less outspread and more focused on one point in place. Turning, you see a lone dragon come into view. From whence he came is a mystery, as no noise signaled his arrival. It is as if he suddenly appeared.

"Welcome to the forest," he says with a smile. His eyes showing nothing but kindness and warmth. The Percher that suddenly lands on his shoulder chirps as if echoing his greeting. "I noticed you've wandered quite a ways into the domain. Are you perhaps lost? I'd take care here, dear traveler, as there are less than savory creatures that live among the Deepwood trees in this land." The aura he radiates continues to show nothing but goodwill, though his smile changes to a look of shock, and he chuckles softly.

"Excuse my manners, I am called Sheratan and I live in these woods. Would you like to come to my cottage, perchance? It's not very far, and I could guide you to it where you can rest and decide what to do next." The Coatl bows his head, and his bird flies off without Sheratan being bothered by its movement.

"Come now, if you would. I'll make us some tea when we get there." The dragon says after standing up and walking towards a bridge that runs across a mini stream of water to an offshoot of trees which house a cozy looking home.

These formations were not there a moment ago, you are sure. For moments prior there had been nothing but large trunked trees as far as the eye could see. Where once there was a feeling of dread and loneliness, there is now a sense of warmth and safety. Maybe you should follow this dragon, seeing as your fatigue might be playing tricks on you.

So you follow Sheratan to his home, listening to him make small talk as he guides you along the path.

You miss the way he turns to glare at a shadow in the distance. You don't notice the incantation he mutters under his breath. The dying screech of some horrible creature covered up with bright laughter.
