Lamiz has never fit in.
The eyestabbing green glow of his body was too much for other dragons to accept him as one of their own. The glowing markings were a constant reminder, engraved deep in to his body; that he's never fit in, that he would always be alone. It was harsh, even harsher for a hatchling to get used to, but Lamiz didn't waste any time getting used to the ugly truth. Lamiz has been smart, no, wise for his age, ever since he was a small hatchling barely hatched. Of course. He would have last this long without that wisdom. It was wisdom, not self pity that guided his way.
Self pity was no good.
That was one of the first lessons he had learned, and one of the most important. Perhaps it was this unsettling wisdom that was so often reflected in his large, luminescent eyes that made him a outcast. Perhaps it was the permanent trace of a cold sneer lingering on his lips. Perhaps it was the fact he had been orphaned as a egg in front of a lair filled with imperials. He didn't care. He was too busy surviving by himself to even think about that matter. The Gladekeeper was fair. Nature showed no mercy for the lone, vagrant hatchling; Lamiz's life was almost always at stake, when he was a hatchling. His life was a frantic race between him and the hunger; similar to a chase between a hare and a fox. One wrong step for the hare, and the hare would never live to see the stars again. He was as vunerable and fragile as the flickering light of a forgotten candle left alone in a storm. The gods of fortune turned their backs on him at birth, only to bless him afterwards. Lamiz grew up to be a formidable fighter, one as swift as the wind, and as deadly as a incoming storm. Every graceful movement sent out a ripple through his serpentine body, muscular but lithe. Even with his bright markings which was no less brighter than a flashing, electric sign, he managed to learn how to hide himself in the shadows. He became true to his title; until then, his nickname had been no more than a cruel jape, of how other dragons acted as if he was invisible when they came across him. Lamiz is now perfectly capable of living by himself. He does not have to go hungry once every other day, nor have to stop flying every half mile to rest. He does not have to hide, be careful with every step taken, hold on to every breath when other dragons are near, not anymore. He will not run away from the terrible dark shadow he so frantically ran away from once; He is too strong to kill, too clever to trick, and too bright to turn out.
He is now a blazing inferno.
