Ahmeti was born in the shifting wastes, a sibling of two others. She never got to meet her family, for when she was an egg her lair was attacked and destroyed by a group of raiders. She and her two siblings were sold to work in a quarry in the dragonhome. The sun was ruthless, and the hours even more so. Her older brother, Ozero, had disappeared soon after the three had arrived; but her sister, Ahzeli, the oldest of the three, formed a close bond with Ahmeti. Ahzeli looked out for Ahmeti, keeping her fed and protected from the cruel overseers of the quarry and their hungry peers.

One cold night, Ahzeli gathered Ahmeti with intent to finally escape the quarry. Unfortunately, they had been spotted by guards just as they were about to get away. Ahzeli had managed to hide Ahmeti and draw the guards' attention by sprinting away into the darkness. Ahmeti waited, and waited, and waited, but her sister never came back for her. Eventually Ahmeti was driven out of hiding due to hunger, but crossing the desert alone was a hopeless task.

Ahmeti walked for days, driven forward without the choice of return, without even a single drop of water nor a single scrap of food. One day, she simply collapsed, able to go no further. Luck finally bestowed its gilded essence upon Ahmeti, though, for she was found by Echo and Opal, with Duisternis' guidance. They took the unconscious, sun-scathed, malnourished and dehydrated Ahmeti and nursed her back to health in the Covenant of Ichor. They were never able to find Ahzeli.

Ahmeti finds her time in the clan challenging, but not strictly unpleasant. Never before has she been faced with so much water, such darkened skies, so many loud people. Her past has scarred her and left her wary and distrustful of others, intimidated and frightened by all of the noise and commotion. Thankfully, she has found a safe space within the clan in the form of her mate, Mourner. Mourner was a dragon much like herself, alone and afraid. But now, they are able to appreciate the serenity of silence together. She's still very defensive over her food though.

Bound Trinket

An ornate golden collar gifted to Ahmeti by Mourner, whom relinquished it to her from his collection of borrowed trinkets out of love. He claims it "matches her eyes." Ahmeti believes Mourner may be colorblind, but thinks the sentiment is still very sweet.
