Biography
Rasputin

Embassador of Earth

Embassador of Earth
|
Of all the Ushal sages, Rasputin is the oldest. The first keeper of the Temple of Earth, the Guardian prides herself in her duties. In her youth, Rasputin was a collector of sorts, travelling throughout Dragonhome in search of treasures and gems that were either kept as part of her collection, or sold to wealthy buyers. As she grew older, Rasputin gave up her nomadic lifestyle, and by an invitation from headmaster Gabi, she became the Sage of the earthen temple. The temple is now her pride and joy, and her many collections of artifacts from her travels now decorate the building. Rasputin is also the reason why Ushal is fairly well-off in terms of finances; she was quite wealthy when she arrived, and chose to donate the money she had to the betterment of the temples. To her, becoming a sage was a way to atone for the mistakes she made in her youth, and regain the favor of the deities. In addition to the looks of her temple, it isn't hard to see that this Guardian has a bit of a vain side to herself as well. Rasputin is draped in apparel of the finest gems, silks, and furs. Her scales are clean, and shine just like the gems she displays. Her appearance has gained her a few admirers, and although she certainly enjoys the attention, she has no intentions of leaving her duty as a sage. It isn't forbidden to have a mate or children as a sage, but it is frowned upon to forsake such a sacred duty, and Rasputin has no intention or want to do so anyways. |

Along with being the eldest, Rasputin is also a sort of mother figure for the younger sages. She won't admit it, but she feels a sort of pity for them that she can't quite describe; these younger dragons will spend their whole lives here, with no chance to enjoy the youth they have, no chance to have a family. She feels a twinge of annoyance towards Gabi for recruiting dragons so young for the duties of a sage, but none of the younger sages seem to mind their duties, so the Guardian stays silent. She can only wonder if they know what they're missing. Perhaps the sages she feels closest to are the Light sage, Felicity, and the Nature sage, Libra. The two young tundras often come to her for advice or guidance, and Felicity has began forming a collection of relics from the Sunbeam Ruins, similarly to the one Rasputin created herself. The Guardian has no children of her own, but the two young sages are like daughters to her, and she loves them as such. When Valentine's army attacked, Rasputin fought the hardest, raining down blow after blow upon the attackers to protect the blind Felicity and inexperienced Libra. Her courage and strength was one of the main reasons why Valentine's attack was unsuccessful, and every sage in Ushal will admit that they owe thanks to the burly Guardian. And Rasputin knows that she would do it all again, and will, perhaps, need to. |
