Synopsis
  • Orestes was, like most of the Mystics, one of the original members of Urushihara's company.
  • As a former oracle, Orestes is incredibly insightful and intuitive, though he's dabbled little in magick since the Tidelord vanished.

Both of Orestes' (or-es-tus) parents were powerful prophets and
servants of the Tidelord and, for the first two decades or so of his life, he was just like them. Ore (or-eh) was a seer by trade and lived amidst the shallow clans in the Tsunami Flats.
Then the Tidelord vanished. And the Sea suddenly seemed so much
quieter.
Orestes, as well as many others - particularly those who relied on the
Tidelord for prophesying - didn't take the deity's leaving well. Distraught, destitute and blind, Ore tried to claw out his own eyes. He nearly succeeded, leaving himself blind in one. He would have died from infection if not for the help forcibly given by a family friend. For a time, Orestes wandered, helping others rebuild their lives and faith. Eventually, having naught else to do, he left the Sea in search of a fellow Guardian he'd befriended as a hatchling. A dragon with a strange name and manner. A dragon who, as he'd last heard, had left to the east, travelling the shores.
