To most, it is a benevolent being who simply wishes to assist. It plays with the hatchlings, accompanies the patrols and watches over the elders. It brings gifts of food, toys, decorations, jewels, anything it can get its claws on to those it fancies. But to those who watch closely, they can see truly see it. The rows of teeth hidden by its cowl's shade, how its maw opens just a bit too wide to be natural, the way they stroke the cheeks of the elderly and dying, whispering sweet nothings in an unknown language only for their corpse to be found minutes later with a horror stricken face. To those it shows itself to, it is an angel. To those who can see it for what it is, it is a ravenous creature who eagerly devours what it can. It is Lanoctu's beloved mate that he claims has been speaking to him for years and has finally found him.
