Biography

As Shatterdawn breaks the morning silence and starts the day, so Duskwillow lays it to rest. When the evening draws in and the day is done, Duskwillow is the one who reminds everyone that there is only so much that can be done in one day, and that there is very little so pressing that it cannot be set aside for a little while that it may be approached later with fresh eyes and a fresh mind. She is an expert at lullabies and bedtime stories for the hatchlings -- or for any other dragon who wants them -- and she knows how to listen quietly to those whose thoughts and worries will not let them sleep, and how to help them to lay their troubles down and pick them up later, when the time is more conducive to doing so. As she does not sleep herself, she also serves as a sort of night light to the rest of the clan, glowing gently like the bioluminescent wildlife of the Tangled Wood as she goes about her quiet night business, keeping company for those who choose to stay up late and do their work by moonlight. What she does with those long hours between dusk and dawn remains a mystery to most of the clan, but those who wake up in the middle of the night may be fortunate enough to hear her singing beautiful and haunting melodies in a language that nobody else seems to know.
