Thalyssra was born into a peaceful clan of the Crystalspine Reaches, but she has always been a little strange. From a young age she was drawn to the Starwood Strand, and could often be found wandering in the dark, offering only a shrug when asked what she was doing. Despite her oddity, she was prized by her parents for her singing ability, with a voice deeply compelling to anyone who heard it.

As she grew older, her music became all the more enchanting, unnerving her clanmates. On one occasion, she convinced a visiting merchant to give away all of his wares; as her peers delighted in new trinkets, the clan leaders saw their worst fears confirmed. Thalyssra is a syren, a product of forbidden magics.

Even as her parents and elders fretted, Thalyssra was fascinated by this revelation. A ghastcrown was commissioned, to dampen the alluring effects of her voice. She wears it unselfconsciously, pleased by the menacing visage – and after all, all she need do to access her power is take it off.

Though she claims to be a scholar, there is no denying that much of the magics Thalyssra has learned are eminently useful in combat. She is a powerful foe, and her ghastcrown only adds to her fearsome appearance.

Thalyssra's never said just where Whisper comes from. Those who are familiar with the Starwood Strand speculate that it originates there.

Thalyssra and Bhaskara bonded easily over their shared origins and a mutual appreciation for scholarly work. She is quite intrigued by his research into goldlust.
