Biography

Sibyl
~The Soothsayer~
Fortuneteller | Spy | Alchemist

More out of curiosity than any real desire to know your future, you decide to take the long trek to the Soothsayer's abode. Descending into the tunnels beneath the castle, you follow the signs placed at intersections. "Sibyl's Soothsaying ~ unlock your future!" they read, in an elaborate silver script on dark ebony.

You reach a pair heavy velvet curtains, spangled like stardust. Hefting them aside, you are blinded by the light bouncing from innumerable mirrored surfaces. Momentarily disoriented, especially considering you just exited the catacombs, you pause a moment to let your eyes to adjust. Despite the abundance of light, it is impossible see more than a few feet in any direction. Everything is obscured by draping sheets of gossamer, satin and silk, in every shade of blue imaginable: aqua, teal, navy, all the way to the deepest midnight, interspersed with delicate accents of bright white. The chiaroscuro combination masks the dimensions of the room, it it occurs to you that the largest Imperial could become just as lost in here as the smallest Fae.
Glass beads and silver medallions, in the shapes of stars and moons, jangle as you brush aside the shimmering curtains, forging further into the depths of the chamber.

Spooked by a sudden wavering cry on your left, you turn to find yourself facing a caged Snow Streak. It lets loose another trill, just as unsettling as the first, as you continue past.
The various draperies darken as you continue inward, until finally you come to a last set of floor-length ebony velvet curtains that seem to suck in the light of your surroundings. Taking a deep breath (there's a faint hint of incense in the air), you sweep aside the curtains -
only to be confronted a spindly table, a gleaming crystal ball, and a silver chair the perfect size for your breed. Underneath the table, a Turmaline Vulstal briefly glances up at you with golden eyes before standing and disappearing behind a curtain. You take the moment to examine your surroundings: the curtains, which seemed impenetrable on the outside, are spangled with glittering dust, like spinning galaxies, and extend all the way up to where they are lost in the gloom. A moment later, the heavy velvet is swept aside, revealing a shimmering blue Coatl. Brilliant cyan eyes, alight with intelligence, seem to pick you apart at the seams from behind a veil of midnight cloth. Finally she speaks, her accent a low hypnotic hum.

"It's about time you arrived. I was beginning to think you'd never show - but then, my predictions are never wrong. Come, let us consult the orb, and see what the future has in store for you."

The clan's soothsayer and Tarot-card reader, to Sibyl it's all a scam. Her clever Lightning mind makes her a master manipulator, as she is capable of keeping track of every little interaction ever had with her fellow dragons; putting together little snippets of information they don't realize they've let slip.
Fond of tinkering, she makes little contraptions and puzzles out of silver wire.

Her relationship with Calypso dramatically soured when the Pearlcatcher was accused of abducting her Snow Streak.

Won in C.A.R.D. Experiment raffle for Thundercrack Carnivale, 2014; along with a full set of Night Sky Silk apparel. Received Aug 6, 2014.
