Biography

The founder and leader of Haven.

Mirth has alway been as she is. As a progenitor, she was never a stumbling hatchling, nor has she gotten older. This fact hasn’t bothered her much, and it certainly hasn’t stopped her from chasing her goals.

For as long as she’d existed, Mirth wanted to have a place to call home. She’d become all too used to wandering from place to place, only journeying into towns for supplies every few months. On one such trip, she met a fellow progenitor, a brown tundra with a certain sense of wanderlust. Leon, as he introduced himself to her, had lived in town his whole life, and his alchemical research was starting to slow due to “a lack of new scenery”. Though his excuse was weak, Mirth was more than happy to have the company.

Together, they made quite the cozy camps as they traveled. So much so, in fact, that after feeding and guiding a lost merchant to their destination, word spread of their hospitality. Over time, the duo became something of a folktale across the sunbeam ruins. That, should a traveler run out of supplies and hope, they may just be lucky enough to catch sight of the lanterns set around the outskirts of the camp.

This was the life Mirth and Leon led for many a year, until a certain dragon arrived at the camp. She was an obsidian black imperial, Aspis, who couldn’t have been more than a few years old. Her eyes were weary, and she carried with her only a single bag. Most only stayed in camp for a few days, perhaps a week at most. But the young firefly magnet stayed until Leon and Mirth began to pack up to move on. Upon asking her why, the latter discovered that Aspis had spent her life without a home too. The camp, she’d told Mirth, had given her a new sense of belonging she’d never realised she needed. Though invited, she decided against traveling with the two, thanking them for their hospitality and departing. Little did she know, the encounter left Mirth with a new feeling, too. A purpose. She would create a home for all who sought one; a haven.

Mirth is a kindhearted dragon with a sharp intellect. Her unmatched problem solving skills have served her well as the Mother of Haven.
