Ah, another stranger wishing to hear of our legacy? Of course, of course, I'd love nothing more than to spread our message.

We are the Vide Lacuna, my friend. We are one with the Shade, and one with the same roaring energy that propels Emperors to kill, we are one with the chaos of the universe. 
We are the ones who lost our colour, our gorgeous colour, with no way to get it back. The Shade promised us repentance, a chance to bring it back, and we accepted gratefully.
For every mortal dragon that dies at our claws, we gain our colour back. It's alive within us - it may take on the appearance of a gene or two, but in reality it's its own being, waiting to strike.
