RUDOLF

Born to an unusual subterranean species of Skydancer who all possess Dark Sclera eyes, Rudolf was designated unusual from birth. His birth species has a reputation for wickedness and a cruel society, but he wouldn't know - at a young age, disaster befell his birth family, and Rudolf spent his formative time before coming to Home living among Guardians in the mountains. The disaster cost him his right wing, and because of his upbringing, Rudolf does not act much like a Skydancer at all. A gifted magician, he is able to fly, but his socialization was almost entirely Guardian, leading him to have a more gruff manner of speaking and even to leave his original Clan to find a Charge of his own.

Rudolf found his Charge at Home. When he saw the orphanage and so many other young dragons with stories similar to his, he knew that it was his responsibility to help. And help he does. Though he can be a bit of a complainer, he is always very ready to get himself into trouble at a moment's notice if it means protecting a dragon he cares about. Rudolf's extensive magical training is as an Evoker, meaning he specializes in powerful elemental magic. It's said that the most powerful Evokers can summon blizzards so fierce and wide they could cloak an entire continent (Rudolf can't do that just yet, but he's still pretty good). As a Dark Sclera dragon, he is used to wariness from wider society, but was thrilled to find acceptance at Home and to be accepted among Home's best magicians. He definitely does not act the typical Skydancer. He curses like a sailor, uses Guardian-exclusive idioms (by my beard!), and can play the piano (but only sea shanties). He tends to be suspicious of dragons he doesn't know well, particularly other Skydancers, meaning it took him a very long time to feel like part of the family. Now that he's settled in, though, most dragons at Home have learned to appreciate Rudolf's gruff sense of humour and constant willingness to help out.

Rudolf is a Germanic name
