Biography

Altair
Once there was a clan of great talon warriors, which consisted of only Imperials and Wildclaws, who each represented a bird of prey. Each dragon resided within their groups, the eagles with the eagles and the owls with the owls, doing their specified jobs assigned by the group of four, each were birds of the stars.

Apus, the bird of paradise, was the martyr who threw parties. He was a womanizer, and he had no defined mate, yet he was powerful. He was known to hypnotize his enemies with his vast colors through the expression of battle dance, it is like ballet with swords.

Tucana, the toucan, was the mother of plenty. She was known for being the bringer of food, and the mother of the clan. She was one with nature, with just a dash of color upon her scales, she was the opposite of her sister. She was the one who broke an enemy's defenses and looked for openings of attack.

Corvus, the raven, was the bringer of death. She lacked the color her sister possessed. She was powerful to a default, her touch infected you with a plague that not even the best of medicine could cure. She was the lover of the crane, she is the reason there is no more. Tucana gave life, and Corvus took it away.

Grus, the crane, was the fortune teller. The future and the past hid no secrets from him. He was never wrong, for he lived one foot in the world of spirits and the other in the one which we rule, the living. He was to protect them from destruction, but in the mist of love, his judgement and vision were cloudy. He lost his sight, and his love controlled his life, this would be a fatal flaw.

This group, these great birds, lead with the ends in mind, and did not worry about the means that they would need to get there. Assigning jobs was a duty they held dear, for this showed who was loyal, and trustworthy for they would not stand to house those who could not bring their keep and pull their weight. Those weak fledglings would be snuffed out and ended.

Corvus and Grus were close in work, and slowly a bond grew between the two. They fell in love, or at the very least, Grus did. Corvus had her own motives, and they were not for love, some would say she did love Grus, for she loved their adopted child greatly.

Inside the clan, there was a pair of eagles that gave birth to a great star, Altair, or the Aquilus, the eagle which carried the bolts of Zeus. The parents of Altair were found to be obsolete, for their work was lacking and they were not pulling their weight, relying on others, and skipping their training. So, by the laws of this land declared they were to be vanquished, and Corvus did just that. She infected them with a darkness, some might claim it was the Shade but nobody truly knew how the Raven did her work, only that it was effective and painful.

Corvus looked upon Altair, curled up in a ball where he rested. The small, white star was large for a newly hatched, and he was hidden from those who ranked above. This made Corvus angry, she questioned what made this hatchling special, and why could the slackers have been blessed and not her and Grus? This hurt, for Corvus desperately wanted to be a mother, and so in no haste she chose to raise him as her own.

Coming to her mate, who himself was as white as snow, Corvus brought her affliction to him. Reluctantly, but lovingly, he agreed.

Yet, their enjoyment was short lived for soon, Corvus began to lose control of her emotions and jealousy of her sister, who was loved dearly by the clan. The clan felt cold and harsly toward Corvus, and it seemed Grus was the only one aside from their adopted son to love her, and it was not enough.

In the night, Corvus striked. She infected the food supply, and the water with her darkness, and she did not avoid from eating it either, so that they would all pass on together and she would finally put an end to the Arpaktikó Poulí clan. Yet, she kept Altair away from this, she sent him away before this occurred.

Altair was sent off, to live in a distant land. From the land of fire he was sent to the land of water, to a clan where beasts of the sea ruled, instead of raptors of the sky. He knew of where he came from, and the great honor he carried as the last Arpaktikó Poulí.

He became a warrior, encircled by embers of the land he once came from, his attacks were special. He formed and used bolts made directly of fire, and he had the ability to engulf a weapon, or his own armor in the same flames that either protected him, or increased his efficiency in battle.

His life was a lonely one although he was surrounded by countless others, he relinquished that he had nobody he related to, no group in which he belonged. His heart was strained by the hidden power which his adoptive mother passed on in his heart, and Altair was often left to wallow in shadows.

Those who lived around him, found Altair to be handsome, and powerful. To them, he was an important member of the clan. Many say that he has saved their lives countless times, and the leaders are willing to allow the Arpaktikó Poulí take the lead he deserves, but Altair himself lacks the ambition to take the lead.

This imperial slowly began to lose his way, his light, and his purity, but soon a surprise come along. A new female had joined the clan, her name was Dust, and from what her stories had told, she was an Owl. Dust and Altair came together and confessed their origins, finding they were indeed from the same clan.

Dust was said to have seen Corvus poison the water, but when she spoke out she was ignored, and so, she ran. She traveled her entire life, searching for any other survivors, and finally, she found one. Altair himself, wondered if there were any other survivors, and to his surprise, and Dust was his miracle.
