Raytheon

Precocious, calm and insightful, yet with the same drive that makes a good engineer. When he was younger, he provided a bit of a stabilizing influence on Paprika, who entered the clan the day after him. Though younger and smaller than the other Coatl, Raytheon is treated much like an older brother. Besides, he's hefty enough to tackle Paprika to the ground whenever things get out of hand, so that has to count for something!

Ray is sort of neutral, doesn't mind what others are doing in the clan so long as he gets uninterrupted lab access to work on his projects. Though not invested in personal relations, he cares very much for everyone, and as such most of his projects center around protecting the members of his clan. His pride and joy is a networked flock of cloned Storm Seekers that watch over the clan's lands - even external threats - wirelessly reporting everything to a single bank of monitors. He calls it SkyNet.

The original progenitor for his cloned flock was found while scavenging in Light territory on July 24th, 2014. Originally given to Geneva to oversee her clan, she exchanged it for a Light Sprite the next day (to much celebration). Death Seeker familiar found while Scavenging in Earth, Apr 18, 2014.

Ray has shown quite the aptitude for business sense, and since his SkyNet has taken to the air, he has been spending his time focused on negotiating contracts for parts and persuading the Clan Matriarch to release funds. He finds her tight-fisted tendencies to be frustrating and as such, finds himself going to the only other option in the clan - the Corrupted Uprising. They pay him quite well for his research, but Raytheon knows that he has only hopped out of the frying pan into the fire.

Raytheon first met Patriot during the early days of the Corrupted Uprising, before it even had a name or direction. The Visionary sent him out to collect a ...project they would be working on, and Ray was not entirely surprised to find it was another dragon. What he wasn't expecting, however, was to fall in love. He enjoyed every moment spent down in the labs observing her, taking notes of her skills, even the sound of her voice. It was only when his adoptive sister Paprika said she hadn't seen him aboveground for months that he realized he had become quite obsessed.

Sure, Patriot was engineered and trained to be seductive, to use her charms to lure her prey in. But it wasn't her body he was interested in (though it could be quite thrilling, he had to admit). It was the beautiful, fragile yet unconquerable mind he could glimpse behind those ruby eyes that enthralled him. Though programmed to become an unthinking killing machine, Patriot never once stopped dreaming of freedom. Her independence would have been considered defective in any other setting, but Raytheon works tirelessly to break the chains her upbringing left on her mind.

It is ultimately Raytheon's fault the Corruption's super soldiers keep escaping, wreaking havoc, and developing minds of their own. He cannot bear to see another dragon enslaved like his precious Patriot once was.
