Mourn
Keeper of the Graveyard

"For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one." Kahlil Gibran

The Weeping Ones exist in all flights. Most of them tend to be Faes, although some other breeds have been observed in the past. There doesn't seem to be any reason for their appearance. They're just born, one day, in an otherwise perfectly mundane clutch of hatchlings.

The first sign that a hatchling might be one is their appearance. They're abnormaly gaunt, their bones protuding from underneath their skin. This lead to some worried parents trying to overfeed their progeniture, but despite that worrysome appearance, they're perfectly healthy. Their colors tend to be darker or duller shades than their sibblings.

The second sign is their silence. The hatchling can communicate with sign language just fine, but won't talk. There doesn't seem to be any abnormalities with their vocal chords but they will, at most, produce sounds reminiscent of whimpers and sobs. Because of this characteristic, they gained the nickname after which they're known today: the Weeping Ones.

Weeping Ones are naturally drawn to cemetaries and graveryards, going so far as nesting there. Their presence is a blessing, as they'll not only clean and maintain the tombs, but they'll also protect fiercely the deaceased from graverobbers and necromancers.

More studies are needed, but the Weeping Ones are gentle and even tempered. They'll let you observe them as much as you want, as long as you don't disturb the mourners or their territory.
