Biography
Clara, like Astra, is a vampire, but unlike Astra, Clara was not born this way. When she hatched, she was a normal dragon with beautifully dark colors and dark Shadow eyes. However, when she was still young and was nowhere near the full adult size she would have attained, a beautiful Skydancer vampire named Saadia stole her away from her parents and turned her, causing her eyes to turn dark and her physical form to freeze in time. To prevent the innocent, confused girl from missing her parents too much, she even blood bound Clara to her, so the young Imperial would be entirely devoted to her.
For years, Clara was treated like the child she was in body and (at first) in mind, only schooled in the basics of vampire society and kept ignorant of the blood bond she was under. She was Saadia's treasure, her pet, her sweet little thing to show off and coo over, even as she mentally matured and learned on her own the things that were being hidden from her. As she matured, as well, a disquieting truth came to light; Clara's blood did not carry the traits of her sire. She did not innately possess the abilities Saadia did, or indeed the weaknesses. She was not a Toreador, as her sire was. She was a Caitiff, a type of vampire looked down upon by all other types, despite their potential.
The two's relationship deteriorated. Saadia did not want to admit to anyone that her childe was a Caitiff, but as often as she had shown Clara around, she could not kill her or abandon her, either. Additionally, Clara had learned of the blood bond she was under; though she adored her sire and regnant, as she had to, she realized that her feelings weren't true, and so secretly stopped accepting her sire's blood, even as she dropped out of Saadia's favor and was seen and cared about less and less by her.
