Biography
The Dollmaker
Oddball was saved from Exaltation to the Plaguebringer only to be condemned instead first to the medical laboratories of Delphi and then to Chro's workshop. She has not only survived, but gone on to become a fully functional and highly respected member of the clan.
Oddball is immediately recognizable not only for her bright colors, but for her prominent prostheses. Her leg was lost in an unspecified incident during her time with Chro, and a large amount of the bone in her skull was contaminated in the medical labs, where some became too soft to function properly and other portions were removed outright as samples. Unable to walk, to speak, to eat, or to even properly breathe without assistance: this was her state when she determined that her life was, without question, worth living.
When first she emerged from Chro's workshop, her own work was crude: a crutch to replace her leg, and rough helms to protect her fragile skull. She found a place for herself as an assistant to Rhodorian, where she studied his own prosthetic pieces and took part in building new replacement parts for herself. On the whole however she found its whole reliance on technology to be lacking, and began to look elsewhere for improvements. Eventually she fell in with the more magically inclined Alexandretta and Krushitel, a friendship and partnership which led to the current 'hybridized' version of her replacement limbs: potent magic and high technology bound tightly together.
Oddball is involved with the Rulings and Ethics Council, working under Krushitel on matters of security and surveillance. Her work on artificial limbs is considered valuable, but of more interest to the Council is her forays into expanding from parts to whole beings, and a number of her spell-powered golems are employed at various duties around Delphi's territory, particularly in areas deemed 'sensitive'. The use of larger, reinforced versions of Oddball's golems has also significantly reduced the number of dragons injured trying to recapture Icis after her occasional rampages.
Though her skull apparatus is quite advanced, Oddball has regained neither her hearing nor the ability to speak, and does not seem interested in adjusting it to allow her to do so. She signs very fluently and enthusiastically, and is known to be one of most gregarious and optimistic members of the clan by those who understand sign language well enough to converse with her.
