Biography

On that day, I swore I would keep you safe
It’s a promise I have made in my heart

WIP

some notes:

• her clan is her Charge, which places her in the category of Guardians who have transient Charges.
while her Search is what lead her to the Brook and gave her the instinctual urge to clear it out and prime it for habitation, she believes her true Charge consists of her clan members themselves; she feels a tugging sensation when around prospective members, a shockwave through her body when they join her clan, and a distinct ringing of emptiness throughout her body combined with a profound sense of loss when they leave. she believes these feelings would remain even if she and her clan were displaced so long as the members themselves remained by her side, but there have been nights where she stayed up wondering what would become of her if, Windsinger forbid, she one day had no clan members left and never found anyone willing to join her again. what if they were all alive and healthy but just didn't want to be around her anymore? would the knowledge of their peace bring about her own or would she feel empty forever? what happens when the best course of action for your loved ones is to stay away from you? how would anyone cope with their Charge just leaving them?
she's never considered herself one to stress over much of anything, but when you've got people you love more than you love yourself, it's only natural to fret over what's best for them.
she'd love to say she'd continue to love and support them regardless, and while she isn't lying, she's found that she feels an intrinsic difference between past and current clan members; current members take priority and feel more like they're part of her, for lack of a better term, whereas past members feel more like outsiders and individuals. how is it fair to anyone for her to speak of unconditional love when she can look at a life she once valued more than her own and instead see a life who could be lost for the good of her collective instead?
it's all rather distressing, but she believes that they're very necessary topics to mull over in order to stay true to herself, her clan, and her land.
she still wishes she could come to an easier, nicer conclusion.

• very polite and motherly but 100% willing to kill for her clan without the slightest bit of hesitation

• would happily die for her clan if it kept them safe

• extremely patient and impossible to irritate

• has an amazing memory; keeps track of everything in her mind and never gets overwhelmed with information

• has multiple Reedcleft Resonances that she gives to clan members travelling out of The Windswept Plateau as a safeguard

• adores Peace Lilies more than any other flower

» family history:
• is the only child of a Wind Primal father and a humble tea shop owner mother; was raised with The Windsinger influencing much of her and her family's lives and decisions and holds endless respect for him and everything he's done for their land

• due to her father's position, she was born into a Windsinger-acknowledged group historically created for the children of Wind Primals & is known as Lady Meira to them, though she takes care not to mention her upbringing or connections around her clanmates as to not be treated or seen differently to them

• her father is [Name], a Wind Primal whose Charge is a once-abandoned shrine that sits by itself atop of a distant hill. dubbed The Shrine Guardian, he spends his days and nights overseeing it and all who visit it; he stays on top of its upkeep, ensures the safety of those who come to pray, watches over their belongings while they're inside, ensures that their offerings are safely received, and makes sure they aren't interrupted as they pray.

the issue of Wind Primals rarely having time to see their families is one that has been prevalent in the Plateau's Primal community long before her birth, although measures have been taken to ease the burden on blessed families. as such, her birth granted her immediate membership of [??], an organization of sorts for the children of Wind Primals. as they tend to be different from their peers (often by being only children, having more powerful magic, and having more personal relationships with their deity), the organization aims to give each child with a close-knit support group from birth. known as Lady Meira to this audience, she retains her membership to [??] and makes sure to visit and send care packages each time she catches news of a new member being born, but she otherwise stays with her clan.

• it's only natural for one's countrymen to want to honor Wind Primals and their families by providing them with discounts, gifts, and faster service than the common dragon would be given.

the Windsinger expected this, however, and also foresaw the tragedies that could come from his children being treated unfairly.
thus came the law that his Primals, their spouses, their children, and all others related to them may never accept bribes or other special treatment from anyone.

his Primals were to remain humble and stay focused on their two sole responsibilities: protecting and empowering their land and their Element.

even if a luxury is provided to all residents, such as coveted goods being heavily discounted or free, they're never to take advantage of such; they must pay full price or abstain from it entirely.

being raised with this rule made Meira want for very little and appreciate all that she was granted. it instilled a strong work ethic in her as well: if she wanted something, she quite literally was not allowed to accept it simply being handed to her; she had to work for it by herself or not get it at all.

there has been a complaint among Primals and their relatives alike that being blessed or related to someone who's blessed feels more like being a second-class citizen at times, but that's neither here nor there.
