Biography

Having met Lestyn on an expedition in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, Merlot's witch hunting expertise has proved invaluable to the guild. The first to volunteer to cut down any such mage, her skills are as feared as they are beloved by the clan. However, her intense hatred for most witches puts her notably at odds with the guild's mages.

Previous Bio:
Slowly sharpening my claws, I let a grin appear on my face. I slowly and precisely put my armor on, just enough to protect the most vulnerable part of my wings, but not enough to weigh me down.

Today was finally the day Scarlet and I would face off. She had some nerve, daring to leave me a note of challenge. It contained only eight simple words:
Tomorrow, let's finish this. You know the place.

I knew exactly where she was talking about, it was the place where it all began; the place where we first met, the place where we first fought. It was just a simple field. I still remember that day clearly. I had just completed my task of assassinating some upstart clan leader and moved to dispose of the body. When all of a sudden some dragoness flew towards me and tackled to me to the ground.

You can imagine my surprise at being attacked on the job. We tussled for a bit before we both got injured and flew away. If I wasn't coated with blood after my well earned kill, I definitely was after that stupid fight.

Ever since then she’s been my sworn enemy, but I won't let her defeat me.

I finished with my armor and flew towards that stupid meadow. I saw her battle ready and glaring at me intensely.

Let her get a good look. I'm going to make sure that mine is the last face she ever sees.

I landed softly on the ground some distance away from Scarlet. Or as I like to call her, Scarlet the Witch.

“Glad you finally showed up, I was beginning to think you were too scared to show your face”, she said while flexing her claws. God what I wouldn't give to rip that ugly face into pieces.

I growled and said “As if I would be scared of a tiny hatchling like you”. She growled back in return, not affected by my words.

I don't know who moved first but suddenly we were the air, clawing at each other. I shot up some distance above the witch before hurtling down towards her with my sharp claws. Luckily for her, she moved out of the way in time so that I only grazed the side of her face. She gave a low growl, swiping away the blood.

Good, she’s angry. Dragons get sloppy when they're angry.

She flew towards me, claws out and ready, swiping left and right with excellent precision. I spread my wings and flew backwards quickly in order to escape her claws. But I didn't move fast enough because suddenly there was a sharp pain in my side and five claw marks running down it.

You've done it now, Scarlet Witch.

I let my wings drop just enough to be able to shoot under Scarlet and quickly flew back up. Before she could process what I was going to do, I swiped my claws through both her wings, tearing the membrane to pieces. I heard her give a shriek of agony before she plummeted towards the ground.

I allowed a grin to appear on my face, but just as I thought I won for good, Scarlet gave one small flap of her bloody wings and flew high enough to tear both of her claws through my abdomen.

I let out a yelp of pain before plummeting down with her. We both crashed into the ground and let out groans of pain. I looked down at my stomach and, sure enough, it was bleeding like crazy. I looked over to Scarlet who seemed to be in a lot of pain as well, but was slowly getting back up.

As much as I wanted to go over and rip her into pieces I knew that I was too injured. So I let my wings expand and flew away. Maybe I'll get lucky for once and she will bleed out right there on to the ground.
