I. Evandelis was originally going to be an exalted dragon, just like Aliana. His home was in the Sea, obviously. He was born there and raised there in freedom. He learned the Water magics and how to correctly divine the Tidelord's prophecies... and then he was kidnapped.

A Light clan who went by the name of the Lightweaver's Children crusaded through the surrounding flight territories and kidnapped dragons from their homes. Although wary clans had beefed up their security to stop this, it proved to be ineffective against this fearsome Light clan. They swept to Evandelis's home and snatched him up, taking him to their home in the Sunbeam Ruins.

Evandelis fought as hard as he could. He would not let himself be taken by them! But his fighting was in vain. The Lightweaver's Children were stronger warriors than he anticipated, and he knew it would be hopeless. It was there where he learned the terrible news. Not only had they stolen him, but they'd also stolen his wife and hatchlings as well.

They had stolen him and his family to exalt them to the Lightweaver.

His wife had managed to escape with one of their hatchlings, but the rest were eventually sold to different clans and exalted without his consent. Evandelis was forced to watch as his family was torn apart. When his wife escaped, she begged him to come with her. Evandelis couldn't leave the rest of his hatchlings at the time, so she was forced to leave without him. After the Lightweaver's Children sold the rest of his hatchlings, Evandelis was left alone.

II. Except for Aliana.

During their time in the Light clan, Evandelis grew close to the Spiral. They could often be seen huddling in their prison cave together and Evandelis did everything he could to protect her from their captors. It is said that no dragon from the Lightweaver's Children was able to get within a wing's length of Aliana as long as Evandelis was there.

The night of their exaltation to the Lightweaver, Evandelis approached Aliana and spoke with her about their impending service to a deity that wasn't their own. Aliana was scared, as all she wanted to do was go back home. Evandelis promised he would get her out, she wouldn't have to serve the Lightweaver. But that wasn't what she was worried about.

The leader of the Lightweaver's Children was named the Lightbringer and he claimed that he was a direct hatchling of the Lightweaver herself. He demanded that all dragons not of the Light flight must be sacrificed to the Lightweaver so they may put their inferior skills to use. However, this cruel dragon had apparently taken a shine liking to Aliana and told her that she would stay in the Light clan as his wife and queen. Aliana refused, but the Lightbringer insisted, stating that he would destroy her original clan if she did not comply.

Aliana was coerced into this, but it didn't take long for Evandelis to convince her that the Lightbringer had already destroyed her clan. Though distraught, she knew in her heart this was true. It was at that moment that Evandelis knew that he was in love with her. Though he hoped his wife was still somewhere and alive, he knew he would never see her again. Aliana offered him the chance to rebuild his life somewhere safe and secure.

When he was put on the exaltation pillar, Ev heard Aliana's scream as the Lightbringer advanced on her, telling her to become his queen. Ev, however, was having none of it. He broke free from the pillar, surprising all the dragons gathered. He attacked the Lightbringer, despite their huge size gap. The Lightbringer was caught off guard and Ev took this chance to pull Aliana from his clutches and flee, carrying her south.

Three days they flew without stopping. Three nights they went without rest. The dragons of the Light clan pursued them tirelessly, and it wasn't until they got to the Sea that most of them tampered off. Several, however, continued to pursue them. Aliana could tell that her new partner was getting tired, and she demanded that he leave her and escape by himself. Horrified at the idea, Evandelis told her he was not going to lose another dragon he cared about. He would get them out.

Even if a miracle seemed out of sight, a miracle still happened.

III. On the evening of the fourth day, the fleeing dragons and their pursuers finally clashed over the Sea of a Thousand Currents, near the Leviathan Trench. Evandelis fought viciously, but he was no match for the dragons. It was no surprise that his screams didn't go unheard, for a group of patrolling dragons led by Miyako heard him and came to his aid.
When she arrived, she saw Ev and Aliana trying to free themselves from the clutches of several Light dragons. She approached the fight and demanded to know what was going on. The Light dragons said that these two were traitors, and they needed to return them to the clan of the Lightweaver's Children. Having heard of these malicious dragons, Miyako immediately ordered her patrol to attack the Light dragons. Startled, the Light dragons scattered and a thankful Ev was practically kissing Miyako's talons. The Pearlcatcher wasn't amused, and immediately took them to see their Empress: Aislinn.

Aislinn was sympathetic to their plight, and allowed them a place to stay in the Empire as members of the Commontry. They were both ecstatic, and thanked the Empress. When Aislinn asked them who they were, Aliana introduced herself as nothing but a small dragoness from a Wind clan that had been wiped out. When it came to be Ev's turn, he didn't just introduce himself as a dragon from another Water clan, but the prince of another Water clan. Aislinn was surprised, for she had been friends with the king of said clan. She immediately accepted them into the clan, promising them a home and a safe place.

Aliana was slightly upset at the fact that he hid this from her. Ev told her that he didn't want the Lightweaver's Children to know about his true origins, and apologized. Though it took some time for Aliana to forgive him, she eventually did and agreed to be his wife. They were married in a quiet ceremony and their priest was Elias, who Evandelis had grown quite close to.

Evandelis and Aliana are happy in the Commontry, and await the day that their hatchlings will come.
