Teon angrily stormed through the Starfall Isles, not paying attention to where he was walking into. He couldn’t believe that his so-called friends back in Snowsquall Tundra had the audacity to dismiss his theories regarding the world’s future as being something that “Space-dad,” as the weirdos up in the Observatory would call the Arcanist, would make up and not be taken seriously. He wasn’t the pretty boy that they all assumed he was, all looks with no brains. Sure, Teon had gorgeous bee-styled wings with jeweled colors on it, along with a shimmering purple body full of constellations, but that didn’t’ mean that he wanted to get by on his looks alone. He had ideas, theories, and he wanted to study all the books and scrolls he could get his claws on and learn more about the world he inhabited.

“They’re going to regret laughing at my ideas, that I WILL make sure of, mark my words!” Teon muttered, to no one in particular. Not paying attention to where in particular he was going, he eventually entered the Starwood Strand. Coming to a pause, he took a look around the glowing trees, feeling a sense of wonder and peace as he wandered amongst the trees. So entranced he was by the glow of the trees, he didn’t notice he was going deeper into the woods, the part where dragons shouldn’t go lest they become eternally lost.

“Hey, you!!! Stop!” Teon snapped out of his beguilement, looking over the direction where the commanding voice came from. From a short distance away, he could make out a dark mass with plenty of foliage on it, like the shape of a guardian. Teon tensed, mentally preparing himself for a fight, as the mass approached him.

“Young’un…. you shouldn’t head into that there part of woods. It’s dangerous. What are you doing wandering around here all shook-like?” The strong booming voice had a strange gentleness to it, Teon noted, wondering who it was that was speaking to him. As the mass approached, his features became clearer. It was a black Guardian with strong fuchsia-colored eyes, marking him as a member of the Arcane flight. With all the foliage draped over him, he appeared to Teon to be the caretaker of the forest he was currently in, and after a quick glance back at where he was going, he realized that the male Guardian was correct, it could have been disastrous for him if he had continued down his path. Teon cleared his throat, albeit nervously, and looked at the Guardian.

“My apologies. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was headed towards, especially as the forest here can really distract you from what you ought to be doing. Thank you for alerting me to the danger. My name is Teon, and I’ve left my homeland due to some….disagreements I had with fellow dragons.”

The black Guardian listened silently, giving no indication as to what his mood was like, and nodded, signaling to Teon he should continue.

“Well, I happened to come upon these woods, and well. There’s not much else I can say…” Teon trailed off, unsure of what he should say next. The Guardian smiled, and shook his head, finding Teon’s beguilement amusing.

“The name’s Ruler. I tend to look after the life in these woods here. If you’re wandering hereabouts, why don’t you come with me to my clan’s home? We’d be happy to offer you some space to rest yerself before continuing on your journey. That is, if you’d like to continue.” Teon blinked owlishly at Ruler, not expecting his kind offer, and smiled slightly.

“I may take you up on that offer, sir. I could do with some rest, thank you very much.” Ruler nodded, and beckoned Teon to follow him towards the Crystalspine Reaches. Teon followed Guardian, not knowing what to expect from his clan.
