 Despite looking like he lived here for ages, Aendrel actually wasn't here as the Project started. Being respected and entitled scholar at his former clan, he used to research ancient scrolls, dangerous artifacts and document questionable records which might have had dark magic and violent rituals included. So as soon as he heard rumors of a pearl experiment, he had to take off, bringing his scarce belongings which mainly consisted of his most valuable books about Lightweaver-knows-what. He was always devoting his passion to researches, never minding the moralty of those, as long as he could witness the results. Knowledge is his ultimate goal, and Aendrel never misses an opportunity to learn, be that an ordinary matter or a forbidden case. His cautious attitude makes him incredibly skilled at what he does, as Aendrel is able to approach even the darkest matters with almost no harm: a rare gift other scholars might look up to. He also tends to be discreet of who he tells of his studies, and even more so of who he lets to witness his work, and he, using and modifying parts from his studies to be safe for an unprotected audience, had become a capable storyweaver. Aendrel is sagacious and talking with him always results in a pleasure or a terror, depending on intelligence level of his collocutor. Here at the Observatory he mainly continues his former studies, but with one major difference - his main subject for now is the Project: how it runs, which difficulties it encounters, by what means Pearlcatchers and dragons who are not turned yet are lured in, how they react to all the voluntary and forced changes their bodies and minds undergo, and mostly - what are their pearls? Being a part of the Conduct, Aendrel has easy access to all the information collected, no one demanding results or even questioning him, and he sees no evil in lying if other dragons try to hook it out. Aendrel is not cold-hearted: he is just a scientist who prefers to spend time with himself and his fearsome tomes, and his moralty is directly related to how interested he is in the result of his current research. And this time, he is more than just interested.
