Polytide was born during the Night of the Nocturne, a skydancer amongst the nocturne hatchlings. The winds were strong that night, a sign that the hatchlings would be strong and promised to do great things - Polytide amongst them. As his mother tenderly helped him get out of his egg, a Veiled Vision appeared and gently poked its beak against his head. It wasn’t that uncommon - familiars chose their bondmates regularly, but Sunrise still took it as a sign that her child would, one day, be great.

And great he was. He soon departed from the Wind Flight, choosing instead to follow his instincts to travel all around Sornieth, exploring ruins and striking friendships with both beasts and dragons; Until a clan in the Tangled Woods caught his eye, and interest. It might be small in size but its territory was vast and wild, with beastclans to fight or barter with, unknown treasures scattered in the mysterious woods… Polytide knew then, that this would be his home, at least for a time.

Once settled in his new home, Polytide started earning his keep by helping the clan’s treasurer and archiving everything they had in their hoard. During that time, he discovered himself a passion for recording the passage of times on paper and started writing small pieces of lore - here a tale that a hatchling came up with, there the recounting of a battle Phoba once fought in… With his writings, Pylotide also started collecting books and scrolls, until his whole lair ended up covered under them.

Between his collection and his work, Polytide found the time to father three children, with Naga, the enthusiastic Coatl in charge of festivities and parties. She was as fiery as her home Flight and their love burned with passion without faltering. For their first nest together, Polytide brought her a book of poetry and flowers to decorate the nest; a testament of his love for her.

Sometimes, in the middle of the night while contemplating the stars looking for inspiration, Polytide found himself dearly missing his parents and the familiar sights of the Twisting Crescendo. The winds in the Tangled Woods just weren’t the same, and neither were the smells or the sights. But during those short moments of melancholy, Naga always seemed to find him - and to have just the right words to bring him comfort.

In his short life, Polytide has seen a lot, and lived through a lot. But his inner curiosity makes him want more and few would be surprised were he to leave one day to explore more of the world, followed as always by his loyal Veiled Vision. Only the gods know what is in store for the Skydancer, but his faith in them has never faltered for they have never let him down; He can only hope that the rest of his life will be as eventful and colourful as the stories he loves writing down so much.
