Biography

"The Living Fossil", a Wildclaw named Viper who, in his opinion, has been unfortunately risen for reasons unknown and ones he does not care to disclose. Viper is a mute, ancient hunter and warrior of old that was born, raised, and met his demise eons ago in his homeland of The Scarred Wasteland. Much to his chagrin, his status as a warrior that had gone down in history brought his remains unwanted attention way later on and it came in the form of being revived to walk amongst the living once more, even if somewhat.

It's glaring how obvious his appearance has not regained, and likely never will, the look to pass off as "alive" and the dragons in his now home-clan of The Grove Shade avoid staring like, well, the plague. It's an ironic detail that brings a smile to his rotting breath mouth and his disturbingly razor sharp chompers. He is, however despite finding this funny, unsurprisingly covered up because he truly does not wish to deal with newcomers to the clan asking questions, or strangers outside the clan coming up to him to do the same; though they usually give him a wide birth, maybe because he smells funny or because it's obvious he's an undead little dragon of a zombie. They can suit themselves, he doesn't wanna deal with other dragons or creatures half the time.

Viper has an odd sense of humor, centered around self-depreciating jokes or morbid things such as death or sickness. The latter is expected of a Plague Dragon, given they're used to such things but the jokes where he puts himself down are the most concerning. He insists he's fine, just miffed that he'd been so rudely revived. The Living Fossil is a snark, and a sarcastic, extremely deadly warrior who prides himself in the quickness of his attack and how fast he can inflict a festering blow of his sickles imbued with the plagues of his homeland. He was a famished carnivorous hunter as well, but now he finds no need for substance in food or water.

As he's a mute, either by the lack of vocal chords or selectivity, Viper communicates with writing, which often leads to a exasperated Picasso whose things get stolen by the literal walking fossil, or clicks and taps of his claws which almost every dragon that's known him long enough has learned to interpret. If none of these seem to work, Viper settles for just quietly giving them a glare their way or flailing, the latter which happens if it's a desperate attempt to catch the attention for something important.

FUN FACTS/TRIVIA OF VIPER, THE LIVING FOSSIL:

- Regardless of his often miffed mood, and ferocious nature, he shows kindness and a protective nature of his fellow clanpals.
- Viper is Gay.
- While he was buried with lots of his "spoils of survival, war, and deadly spars", a majority got lost due to unknown circumstances.
- All of which he wears that are not his bandages and mantle, are the remainders of his battle-won prizes.
- He owned a Cleaver, of which he still searches for out of all the things he lost.
- His familiar, Livyatan, had been his familiar since the day he was born, died, and was raised again.
- His nickname, "The Living Fossil" is accompanied by "Undead Hunter" and "Warrior Of Old". The nicknames he used to go by when he was actually fully alive was "King of The Warriors".
- He perished in a rather gruesome way, buried under rocks and dirt, caught in the final battle he would've ever fought before other warriors retrieved his corpse.
- Holds too much pride to admit if he's hurting in any sense, is unlikely for him to open up a lot of the time.
- He was revived by an unknown and unnamed necromancer.
- Rumors has it he was risen to serve The Necromancer, but it backfired when the Warrior of Old was still very much conscious, sentient, the same old mind of his own, and very, very displeased and dangerous.
- Viper searches for The Necromancer, a dragon with no face in his re-awakened memories nor a proper name to call them by. All that Viper knows, however, is that he knows the dragon is up to any good and seeks him out. If he raised him, a dead and old warrior known to be dangerous, what was this Necromancer trying to do?
- While has no need to feed or hydrate, rodents are his favorite.
- Has trained other dragons in both ancient and present times.
- The only one who can hope to even get a genuine smile out of him is Vanir, one of the clan's guards.
- If the wounds by his plague-ridden sickles are not treated fast enough, festering and death is eminent. [ A little fun fact outside FR and The Grove Shade Clan's lore, this idea is taken from an actual real life fact about the Tyrannosaurus Rex's festering and infectious bite. From meat that got stuck in its teeth, it would create a septic bite as a result, meaning that if its prey successfully escaped its attack but not its jaws, a bite force of 8,000 pounds, it would die later on as result of the bacteria-ridden bite. It seemed fitting for a dinosaur-like dragon such as Viper, who just so happens to be a Plague Wildclaw.
Another little fun fact is that his Familiar is named after the Livyatan Whale; also a prehistoric, extinct genus that holds one species known as "L. melvillei.". The inspiration behind the genus' name after the mythical sea monster "Leviathan", and another inspiration behind the name was Herman Melville's novel. ]
